Should I change the A/T Fluid on '96 Sunfire?

Hi,

Should I change the transmission fluid (automatic) on a 1996 Sunfire with 83,000 KM (Kilometers) on it?
I have heard it may burn the transmission and I do believe this would be the 1st transmission fluid change for my car.

Yes, by all means change the fluid. Maintenance is good.
