Well I was going to work at 5:30 in the morning i get out there and my car won't start. It turned over a couple of times and then nothing. I thought it might be the battery but the radio still worked. Could it be my starter? Now when I try to crank it I get nothing, but my radio still works. Now i'm wondering maybe if I might have some dead cells in the battery that it doesn't have enough power for the starter motor, but still enough to run the radio. (I'm completly new to electrical systems) I'm wondering if i shorted the battery when I hooked it up the other day, because when I put the negative back in I got some arking.

Oh one more question. I was thinking of jumping it incase it was the battery, would I hurt anything if I jump it and it was not the battery?

Is your theft system light on when you have the car on ?
NEW SIG COMING SOON FOR 07'!!!
If your theft sys light is not on try this before you have the battery and charging circuit checked.
It is always recommended, with the modern systems, to charge the battery disconnected from the car rather than jump it, if at all possible.
I would disconnect both terminals on the battery, clean the battery terminals and the cable terminals. Disconnect the earth/ground terminal at the chassis point, make sure that both chassis point and connecting terminals are clean. Then reconnect everything but the battery terminals.
Recharge your battery, reconnect it and try again.
The symptoms you describe are typical of a bad connection in the power or ground to the starter circuit.
Simply, the radio takes a comparatively small current so the high resistance of the bad connection doesn't affect it much, i.e. it does not drop much voltage.
The starter is trying to use lots of amps and so drops most of the batteries voltage at the bad connection leaving nothing for the starter.
A multimeter is a good tool to have for checking electrical items and they are not too expensive.
An on-board voltmeter is a good tool to use instantly in the car if you have it wired to come on and off with the ignition-something else to look at on the dash!
This voltmeter will also show you how your battery and charging system is performing.
You should see 12+ volts with ignition on before you start, at least 9+ volts while it's cranking and about 14.5 volts when it's driving.
Hope this helps

One more thing to check whilst the battery is disconnected-that the main starter terminal is clean and tight!

I'll give it a try. Thanks. Any other ideas?
