Intake manifold/ throttle body issue
Thursday, November 24, 2005 11:47 AM
I just bought a 72mm performance throttle body and I will probably recieve it in a week or so, but I didn't think about the intake manifold. Does anyone know the diameter that the stock intake manifold (2.2 ecotec) can hold? And will I need a new one? And if I would need one, anyone know a site where I could get one?

Replies are appreciated a lot, thanks in advance.

that throttle body is too big and I doubt it will work on the eco

you don't need one if you aren't boosted

Yeah but I need to put on my new throttle body, I don't want it to just sit there and be a waste of $300.

Sent it back and get your money back.

MAN, you should have done some research before a newbie purchase like that.

If they told you it will work on your car, then use this to tell them that you want your cash back, return this thing. On an N/A eco, I won't go over the 62mm, you can get one from RSM, OR, you get one from the junkyard and have a machine shop bore it to 62mm. This is what I'm gonna do when I'll have the cash and that I found a good machine shop. I think that the 71mm are used on drag car, since you car is barely stock.... I looked in your profile and.... please get rid of the "chip" in your engine mods, in your profile and in your car, there's no chip for the OBDII J-Body. If you want an advice, ask people here about things you may want to get, you'll have answers really quickly if it's junk and it will save you a lot of cash.

Good Luck!!!
