2004 cavalier Question
Thursday, December 22, 2005 10:22 AM
My brother just bought a 2004 Cavalier 2dr with the 2.2l Echotech engine and 4 speed auto trans.

He had a 1999 2dr with the OHV 2.2l and 3 speed auto and it ran a 17.4@80 MPH it had rk sport cat back and intake.

My question is what will his stock 2004 run in the 1/4 mile time and speed?

Also what s the best brand cat back exhaust, ait intake, underdrive pulleys, throttle body, basicly all the good bolt on parts.

thanks, jason

PS I have a bone stck 2000 Z28 A4 and it did the 1/4 in 13.5@102 MPH I now have a MTI clear lid and after market MAF now

Your 04 Cavalier 1/4 mile times should be in the mid 16s stock. I know cause I have one.

Now as far as parts goes...there is really no best, it's all pure in preference. If you want to know what is available for the ECOTEC motor, I would highly suggestion you read this thread/sticky that I wrote up:

Full ECOTEC Build Guide

If you have anymore questions about the ECOTEC motor or what to do or some type of suggestions, feel free to ask on here or contact me privately.

Enjoy the new car.
