Header: flex pipe, motor mounts, or both?
Thursday, February 23, 2006 2:53 PM
I'm bound and determined to get my exhaust fixed within the next couple weeks and tomorrow I get paid so I'm ordering my header. I called in a favor and my buddy over at Car-X is going to mendrel bend a new rear section for next to nothing. I'm adding the new cat as well so that it's all 2.25", but the header doesn't come with a flex pipe. For some reason, they never fricken do. I know I'll either need a flex pipe or motor mounts, but what one does everyone seem to prefer? Or maybe I should do both? By the way, I'm ordering the OBX stainless 4-1 header.

Go with motor mounts. They will stop your motor from moving, and get back some of the torque lost through your motor swaying.

I found a Prothane mount kit with engine and tranny mounts for about a hundred bucks. Good deal?
