2.3L HO swap done, throttle sticking...
Sunday, April 16, 2006 10:58 AM
After 2 weekends of modification I finally got the manifold on and everything fits fine. The car runs fine with it on, no CEL except for EGR which I clear everytime I start the car, and no idle problems. The only problem I'm experiencing is a slight hesitation and stick in the throttle. Any ideas how to fix this? I'm using a 2.3L tb. Also I noticed that the car seems like it isn't getting enough fuel when I start climbing in the rpms. It also seems like just when I'm making a lot of power something is holding back. I checked the throttle body and it opens all the way at full throttle. Not sure what the problem is. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Also how did you guys get your cruise control to reach the tb? It seems like there's not enough slack.

you need to flip the ruise control box around. theres a little tab at the top you need to cut off with a dremel and then it bolts in fine in the same holes when flipped around.

I did that, I think the problem is where the cable mounts to the bracket. From there it doesn't reach the cruise notch on the throttle body.

you gotta hook it up to that little pin that sticks out on the wheel. I used toe 2.3L cruise cable cause it already has the little piece of plastic on the end to clip onto that notch that sticks out.

I probably need to get that 2.3L cruise cable for it to fit. Did you use the 2.3L throttle cable as well? Because I had some routing problems with my 2.4L throttle cable and ended up breaking the metal casing in a few areas to get it to bend to where I wanted to fit. If the 2.3L throttle cable is shorter I might get that as well because it would be a lot easier to route.
