ive heard ebay has some relatively decent stuff, but u kno... its still ebay, and you never really know what youre gonna get till you actually get it. but most of the time you can trust it. so yea, take a look there for pretty much anything cheap

I had a fitment problem with the generic short ram intake from eBay...

So, I scrapped that one and am going to be getting one from RDFabs.com

^^stay away from JBP if possible, they're more of a third-to-last option for stuff.
I bought a 3" mandrel u-bend off ebay, some couplers and clamps from home depot, and a filter from Autozone and made one easliy, just need a hacksaw. Of course, this was back when there was nothing availible for less than $150.

Here's a good shot of mine. I can't remember the name of the seller but it was only like $12 plus shipping. It was a little short so I added a piece of 3" exhaust pipe to get the filter over and at an angle to get it away from the exhaust and it also helps the filter clear the hood. The only issue I really had was it didn't have a hole for the IAT so I cut off one of the vacuum nipples (it had two for some reason) and drilled it out for the sensor. I also tossed the cheap air filter in favor of a K&N I already had.

How did you get your intake to stay on the TB??

go with the ebay one, I have it no problems at all. No need to pay 200 +dollars just for the name injen or something else written on the side. If you are into the whole flashy/ricey theme then just buy one and paint it.. lol simple and flashy enough. Aluminum piping is Aluminum Piping.

Did you guys have any clearance issues such as the hood insulation?

I just went and useds the universal tube, and cone filter from Vato Zone. Works just fine for me. I think I gave a total of like $45 and it fit the TB just fine

the one thing about the espensive intakes is thew fact that the tune them, dont ask me how it is done the just do, notice how a AEM intake will sound better then a ebay one? well that is because those sound wave can acuttally give you more power. I am quoting this off of AEMpower.com, i have a AEM intake on my car, i noticed way more pull then thee Peicer CAI that i got off ebay. it is really personal preforance though, i have exhuast on my car that i made, and most of my stuff is ebay, but headers, intakes, and internals will be brand name.

No problems with fitment. all proper pieces come with the intake. No need to purchase expensive intakes.
