ok..i cant find any website info-ing me about resonatorsor "cherry bombs"...unless im just not looking in the right place...so i understand a resonator cuts back noise...but is this kinda like a pipe that goes over the existing pipe and it welded on??

a resonator is like a pipe with holes in it (perforated tube), and around that is a shell packed with steel whool or fiberglass. hence the name glass-pack. some are louvered some are not. the louvered ones are not a good choice for enthusiasts because the louvers create some turbulence to the flow.
