Will driving without a muffler @!#$ up my car? Im just asking because a friend said it won't @!#$ up my car, some mechanics have told me otheriwise, I'd like to know the truth. and thats running just without the muffler everything else is still there and stock.

No, the car will be fine, atleast I think so... It's going to be hella loud though. it's going to sound horrible, and drive everyone around you nuts.
i know!! it sounds horrible lol. my buddies and i tried to install a muffler last year. but the guy at canadian tire suggeested we use thge wrong hardware and it didnt work. so i had to drive my car to my local garage the next day and they welded it up for $30 bucks that included the new piping the had to bend and the bracket they installed.

a lot of mechanics will tell you the wrong thing so you come in and have the work done. My 1st car was a 1987 dodge aries k car station wagon(5 spd!), the exhaust piping right behind the muffler decade and it fell off and i drove it around for weeks, what a noise it was. So after i got sick of the headaches i put a glasspack on it. My car was deemed the most ghetto in my little town. System and an exhaust, on a k-car.

of course it will screw up your engine, without the muffler there tiny little men will travel up the exhuast pipe and attack your exhaust valves with little drills, lmfao, dean you douche as if you don't believe me when i say your car will be fine, loud but fine
no difference at all.. muffler, no muffler, cat, no cat, piping from header back, no piping from header back... u get the idea... the only think i could think of is the fact that its illegal to drive a car without a muffler if its made after a certain year (i think 1969 or something along those lines) so if you get pulled over for noise violation, youre basically done... o, and if you take the cat out you'll throw codes or get a light or something, about 02 sensors. not that you suggested that in the first place tho.
ill buy a muffler first and just have it in the back seat and when I get pulledover, Ill be like "yeah I tried to install it myself but it didn't work out for the best, I have an appointement to get it welded on". ill just have to make sure I get it done sooner then later after that.

thats not exactly true about th muffler illegal thing... DEPENDING on where you live, look at the SRT-4 all it has is a Resonator, samething with your loudmouth exhaust systems that SLP sells for the f-bodys, gtos, and vettes, all they have are resonators. the only real law that i know of when it comes to that is hope your neighbors don't call you in for a noise complant.
Surprisingly I still have a muffler on the cav. Every other car had the muffler cut off and replaced with the Pacesetter "ansa" tip. Dual of course.

resonator = glasspack "muffler". therefore they really do have "mufflers"... whether or not they actually do muffle, is where the real question should be asked.
i said muffler may be illegal, but really i dont think it is... i think its just the cat thats illegal to take off if the car is newer than a certain year. my bad
but yea, noise violations are bad... so take that as you will.
