Well im getting closer and closer to my finished product that i need some questions answered. .... 1st in going to use W41 cams in my 2.4 . what are the differences between the the 2.3 w41 towers and 2.4l towers .. besides the sensor and the PS outlet and lifter size ? is the tower bigger in anyway as in taller, wider ? my plan is bore (if thats what you call it ) the 2.4l cam shaft tower to fit the 2.3l lifter and install the sensor on the cam. For the 2.3 guro's would the 2.3l exhaust side Cam tower Bolt up directly to the 2.4l head and the cam ? or would i have to "Bore" the stock 2.4l Tower to fit the Cam ? if i missed someting what else should i do to get the w41 cams to fit ? and yes i have the Stiffer springs and all the good stuff.

I wouldn't go with the W41 cams. Karo's engine went coucou with the W41 cams. The Ho cams gave him better result and a better powerband.

The reason that the stock towers will not work is because of the small lifter. The love hits on the lifter bore. I'm pretty sure your best bet will be to go with Q4 towers. It will be pretty expensive to bore out your towers.
As long as you have a way to control fuel, then go ahead with the W41's.
They are still a reasonably mild performance cam for a big motor like a 2.4, at .410"/218

The thing is i want to keep the Power steering ..... my problem is basically with the Intake Cam tower. .. i know i can use the Exhuast side with no problems right ? direct bolt on.. or is there a way to get PS with the Q4 Tower ? and you say that he got better performance out of the HO than the w41 why is that ? i thought the bigger Cams the better in breathed so more power im sure theres more to it but its the basic concept ? educate me on this please thank 10..7:1 pistons going in my block .

HO cams are far more suited for a 2.4 then W41 cams...you do realize the only difference is that the W41 cam has a slightly higher duration to move your peak power a bit higher in your rpm range....which is far higher then a 2.4 will rev. unless you have the engine management (stand alone or OBD I conversion) to utilize a higher rpm band...there is 0 point in upgrading, you'll likely LOSE hp. and for the record...karo's engine is one of the best built n/a 2.4's out there, and it didn't like the W41 cams at all, tossed in the HO's and it purred like a kitten...and it had the OBD I conversion which would be ideal...so with all that considered...is it really worth springing all the extra money for a cam that will likely cause you issues and make you lose hp????

HO Cam .410 lift, 212 duration
W41 cam .410 lift 218 duration

That makes sense, the w41 cams need more speed to build up max hp.

So karo has odb1 huh, is karo megasquirt or just odb1, because my project is focusing on complete tuning of the odb1, and we're very close to a solution.
