Just wondering if any one makes a radiator upgrade for us? or if any one has bought just a core and done it them self? let me know... i am working on getting my engine as cool as possible as i run extremely hot now with the new set up... and the rad is just one of the things.... as well if you have done this what fans did you go with?

silver car - 305whp 315lbs.tq @15psi (91 Octane) or 420whp & 425lbs.TQ @20psi (94 octane+Alcohol Injection)
All dynos run on a Mustang dyno
I had a flex-a-lite dual electric cooling fan when the turbo motor was running, and it would seriously turn on for like 10-15 seconds, and it owuld cool it down taht fast, it would suck some serious air. It had its own temperature sensor and control module, you could have it turn on at a cooler temperature and have it shut off at whatever temperature.
You may be able to use a beretta radiator. They are twice thicker than the J radiator.

Fst Cavy did you just put the fans in on the stock rad?

what're ur IATs and EGTs?
i can not tell you exact right now, maybe once i get tuned by the HP tuners kit... but on an average 20 degree day here my engine temp shows well past the 90 mark... its just below the next thick bar.... if that makes any sense

how would he know his IAT's. I dont think theres any real way to monitor it other then a tuning program. and I dont think he has an egt guage either.

well between the intercooler sitting right in front of my rad... and the turbo producing big time heat as well as the supercharger heating up pretty damn good all under the hood in a tight compact space... can you see why i would have big heat problems

i am going with a nice big fan(s) set up to move more air, and a oil cooler and ill see what the does for me.... as well the alcohol injection cools the supercharger down ALOT so once i get that running it should help take care of some of the heat being produced under the hood but i still would like it to be at least at the 90 marker on my temp gauge

my car will get that hot sitting in traffic, and its stock:S
damn i never had that much of a cooling problem when i was N/A... but then i have been boosted since 20,000kms... and now i am at 47,000kms not even with the supercharger... well it did but only when the days where alot hotter...

The alky will cool down your motor a lot, but don't rely on it. Your innercooler is located in front of your radiator, but again that won't do much for your radiator temps. Try the second fan, or if you want to be bold try a CO2 cooler kit, they install on the innercooler and cool the air down.
To obad there's no room to V-mount. One of my friends saw it done in a magazine and did it on his 240sx. There's just not enough room to do it in most cars, though, which sucks because her really dropped his temps after doing it.
I remember Lenko doing a Malibu fan conversion. See if you can find it.
I could be wrong but i also think he said it would not fit due to the fact the supercharger is just a lil too close to fit.

If you're getting the HP Tuners software, just set your turn off and turn on temps differently.

aint that the sad truth...

Yeah, couple of people did it, or said they were going to... using a Malibu or Grand am dual fan setup. The one fans plugs directly into your factory plug. The bottom of the fans need a bracket to properly attach to the lower radiator support. Top support I believe is fine. Also you could run a parallel switched, relayed, and fuse for the second fan....but I do not know if it will clear your supercharger.

the flex-e-lit dual fans are thinner than the stock and fit the radiator pretty dam good
I saw on gmpartsdirect a heavy duty radiator listed for J's. Has a different part number, but sure how different it is. anyone else know about this?
FU Tuning
I did the Grand Am dual-fan swap. It doesn't bolt in, but you can zip-tie it in place. It's a VERY tight fit with the supercharger and the A/C retained. It would be much easier to fit it with the A/C removed, but I like my A/C
I used the stock plug on the driver's side fan, and haven't yet hooked up the passenger side fan. One day I will... I have other bigger issues to solve first.

thats smart.
twin charged with no tuning program, and not monitoring EGTs is really risky and foolish to say the least.
Get one on there asap.. if ur engine is overheating its a possibility your EGTs could be too high which means you have more problems than just getting a bigger radiator. park the car until then or baby the hell out of it...
Iron block + aluminum head + constant overheating= not a happy engine and warped head or worse...
<sigh> I really wonder sometimes...
I know its not part of your cooling system technically. But maybe switching from your ram air hood to some sort of extractor would help a bit to.
^^ good point.
take out your fogs and runs some piping into the engine bay.

Bingo. Just make your fan work overtime.

Blew it up, build numbers coming soon

well its not over heating i have had it go up higher when i was just supercharged and nothing else... but that was on a 40 degree day in saskatoon.... it hasnt gone up that high yet but then its still going up pretty high for only being 20-25 degrees out it would /will be tuned with hp tuners once i get my new manifold on.. but i just want to get the cooling stuff done for when i go back to saskatoon again this summer
and thank you all for your replys... i think im going to end up going with a dual fan set up from Flex-a-lite i only wish i could get the same one from them as my dad got for his car... moves something like 5500cfm of air...
