Exhaust piping

Does anyone know if I will benefit more performance horsepower wise if I upgrade to 2.25 exhaust piping with a new resonator and a dynomax super turbo muffler instead of just using the stock piping and resonator and just put on a new dynomax muffler? Will the larger piping and new resonator help with the sound from the new muffler?

Yeah it'd help a little, it'd help more though if you were pushing some real power, but the 2.25 decesion is a smart one, not too big and not too small.

The stock pipes on my 04 were very restrictive. I didn't know how bad they were until I pulled them out. They have flat spots along the top of the intermediate pipe that are not obvious when you look under the car. Some of these flat spots appear to reduce the pipe area to about half of the nominal pipe size. Even if wanted to return my system to a stock muffler and resonator, I would never go back to the original pipe. Way too restrictive, in my opinion.

it should help anything bigger than stock but dont go past 2.5 unless u plan to boost.
