Long story short, i have a resistor for my IAT sensor. My friend thinks i'm going to get some magical big boost from it, i think otherwise. We're going to G-tech my car before and after and i get a 6 pack if there is no gain, vise versa. Now i don't have a Haynes car manual and i see two plugs and i'm not sure which one is the IAT Sensor. I'll post a pic- hopefully it works.
Now, is it the plug on the left OR the right on the T.B.? Or am i completly off, and yes, i'm a retard with engines.
Thanks guys, i appreciate it!!

From the Performance FAQ:
EVENT wrote:Ebay resistor mods/intake resistor scam mods: these usually cost around 99 cents up to 20$. All they send you is a 10cents resistor you could have gotten from radio shack. They claim power, but all it does is make the car dump gas in the injectors… it doesn’t advance timing, just makes you run rich and waste gas, cause if you actually put this on your car, you prob are new to the game, don’t have the air or spark to blow it all up when it gets there. Over time it can cause problems. Its not a bad thing to be new, each and EVERY one of us were new at a time, but you can prevent being new and falling for outrageous claims for small amounts of money.

I wont get TOO in depth on this, but it’s a waste of 100 used, or 200+ dollars new. Karo, dynoed this beast of a faux mod and gained like 1.3 or 1.5 whopping HP. Aka, for the price, you could have done better. But like said above it’s the same as pressing harder on the gas. To read more about it in depth, I’ll refer you to the JBO main library listing for it. http://www.j-body.org/faq/10/20/
that should also cover the TPS TECs and VENOMS as well.
CHIPS : “I wanna chip my car!” so do the rest of us, but you now can take 1 minute out of your day to thank OBD2 computer that control our cars. On third gens from 96 and up, its OBD2, and OBD2 is as of now, unable to be chipped. There is such thing as a reflash programming, but VERY FEW places can do it. RSMracing.com Mantapart.com stated on their websites that they do it. But its expensive. And to what degree they do things, well I am not sure, if you wanna know, then call them or email them. Go straight to the source so you KNOW from the COMPANY DIRECTLY. 95 and earlier cars that had OBD1 computers however can be chipped. However chips companies that are decent are rare.
ASE chips on the other hand…. Well I will leave you with this. http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=2&i=204484&t=141807#reply_204484
These are a couple of the reasons for the "Read before posting."
Perhaps he read the Performance FAQ and saw that the intake resistors do nothing; therefore, he made the bet with his friend knowing he would get a free 6 pack out of it. I'd do the same thing if my friend was adamant about something like this.
the IAT is not in the pic you supplied
its near the power steering pump
I've read the Performance FAQ on this subject months ago, and i'm NOT looking to put this in expecting a gain, its just a bet then the resistor will be take out and thrown out.
Thanks for the help guys!

Hope you enjoy the six-pack p1llar! BTW, post up the G-Tech times before and after, just for fun.
I was happy when I heard my car ran 10s. Then I found out that was 0-60.
Before
127whp
After
10000000000000000000x AWHP
Just kiddin!
N2O + Bolt-ons
= 220Hp/

Coming Soon:HpTunersPro, EagleConnectingRods, WiescoPistons, 13sec2200
lol. i actually talked to a kid with a cavy who said this mod removed his speed limiter because it ran off of the IAT, he said it gave him huge gains too. he scared me when it came to his car.

Okay so i put it in on tonite, did two runs without it and three runs with it. I got my 6 pack of kokanne hehehe.
First run was 15.54
Second run was 15.56
With resistor:
First run 15.64
second run 15.58
third run 15.56
So yeah, if you're thinking about buying this garbage don't, it does NOTHING other then give me free beer

Hmmm... what I'd like to know is the outside temperature, and the value of the resistor.
I was happy when I heard my car ran 10s. Then I found out that was 0-60.
We figured out 5+ years ago it was a garbage mod. Same as taking the IAT out of the intake tube, and putting in the front grille. It plain DOES NOT WORK.
Lol, get a turbo and run a half a pound of boost and you won't have to do any ECU tuning if you take out the IAT Sensor and pop in the resistor and I'm sure that you're Air:Fuel will won't be toooo lean. Since all the sensor does is make your mixture ritch and make you poor and down like 5 burritos...assuming it's 3 dollars a burrito and the cost of the damn resistor on ebay is like $15, so that is infact 5 burritos. A man can starve...A MAN CAN STARVE FROM THIS FAKE MOD!
