A guy is selling brand new SRT-4 engines dirt cheap in my area, can this fit with slight moderation? The engine is barely bigger then the Eco, and it's fwd of course. Domestic too. What do yall think?

fit....yes. getting all the wiring to work and whatever else= not worth it. easier to swap in a 2.4 from a cav or fire and turboing that. or an eco. and get more power out of it
and besides why would you want a neon engine in your car?

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
turbo on eco = more than those 90 horses if done right.. not worth it only reason srt-4 has 90+hp or whatever is the turbo
Not only that, but the engines I believe are reversed of the cavalier engines. That is, the engine is on the opposite side (where the transmission sits, and the transmission is on the engine side). It would be an INSANE amount of work and time to create new brackets (look at how high the mounting rail is on the passenger side compared to the drivers side). You would need to make a completely custom engine mounts and transmission mounts, probably custom axles, etc. You could take the money for the swap, build an Eco up, drop it in, and beat SRT-4's all day long.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
besides the fact its a 4 cylinder thats about all it has in common, you would have to spend 10k or more to get it in there and working

I'm not going to do it but I work at a custom metal fabrication shop. We have already dome some pretty custom ass stuff for my Cavi. If anything, it would have been time consuming. But yeah, we got my Eco up and running and we'll see how it holds for now.

10 grand? I doubt it. If you had the whole srt-4 donor car, it wouldnt cost much more than that. A ton, and i mean A TON of custom work. Fiberglassed dash to hold the srt-4 cluster, basically taking the whole srt-4 drivetrain (motor, tranny, axles) and stuffing it into the front of a cavalier and building everything AROUND taht, unless you wanted custom axles, but i think those would be the priciest part of it if you didnt try to get the srt-4 ones to work.
like stated before the engine in your car is a better bet..

Sven you totally quarterloafed your computer..
I think you should stick to gm performance and not mopor, i mean good god its mopor....just my two sence
does any one know ...well iam building a 2000 or 2001 2.4 , i was wondering if i will need to swap the wire harness or will the parts on that engine plug right in with my 97 harness(already have 97 z w/2.4) The engines side by side look identical to each other. so i ws wondering this before i am suprised.
all fabbing aside
an eco with a decent turbo and tuning will run right with a stage 2 srt motor. and correct me if I am wrong but it will also do it with less boost than you think
