Ok on my 04 (Eco-Getrag) when you pull the wheel off and look at the end of the axle there is alot of extra axle thread sticking out past the nut. Older 5-speed Z's were not like this. The extra poking out has become a problem for me. Is there a dirrect front axle swap to get the shorter one? Or can I just chop it? My only concern with choping it is I know at work when I have o pull an axle for whatever reason puting it back in the axle is splined to the hub/bearing assembly, you can only get the axle a little bit started and then you use the axle bolt thread it in and tighten it and it pulls the axle in all the way and seats it. On these axles if you shave that extra off will there be an issue if I very have to get them in and out for whatever reason, will I need that extra threading in order to get the axle setaed or will it be ok with just enough axle to go the length of the of the nut?
Any input is apreciated, thanks
chop it, my roomate chopped both and never had a problem

yeah Karo just had me call him, problem solved
btw if anyone is else is looking into doing this take the wheel off obviously, back the axle nut up to where you want the threads to end, and usea an actual saws-all to chop it, not a cutout wheel or die grinder, and then use a file to clean the edge up.
