Hey everyone

It's been months since I've posted here and it's good to be back. I got real serious into lifting and things so slightly lost some interest in cars and also a lack of money contributed. Anyways, I tore my ACL and the outside tendons off the fibula so that has all come to a hault. Coming back on to the org has sparked an interst again

Anyways, Christmas is coming up and I'm going to start working again...I have the 01 z24 LD9, right now just have an intake on it and some engine mounts (upper/lower). Was wondering what are some basic performance upgrades you guys would suggest? I have searched around the forums, I'm not some newbie...don't feel like going with a nitrous setup. Would rather some more long term things, and preferably stuff I could install on my own if possible. If you need any more questions to get a better idea of my situation feel free to ask, more or less want to know what is some easy performance stuff I can ask for or save for, and hopefully install on my own. Thanks again, and it's good to be back
Header, exhaust, & pulleys are some basic stuff that you can install yourself.
Yeah was looking at either OBX or Pacesetter I guess, 4-2-1 would be ideal.
Any suggestions for pulleys?
Exhaust...i've always been convinced that custom is better...I just don't see myself splurging that much money on some piping that can easily be bought for cheaper and pieced.

winner! If you're not planning boost or nothing like that, go 2 1/4" piping, save some low end tq.
Just no fart-cannons, please!

Yeah I can't stand riceburners that drive around and sound like they should be pushin at least a buck and a quarter and are barely pushin 65
I do plan on eventually hitting up some sort of boost, but I can't really form any sort of date on that so I'm not sure if 2.5'' which is suggested for boost would hurt me or not.
Thanks again for the help by the way. I'm just going to be heading into college in a few months, so as a result of my injury I might not end up playing soccer in college like i had planned. So this may open up some free time for my other favorite thing aside from soccer...my car

So for now just looking to get my hands dirty.
lots of people have gotten the pacesetter 4-1 header. you can get pulleys on just about any website. gravana tuning, or carcustoms

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Yeah, I'm thinking of going with the header and exhaust to start.
You might consider getting a bigger throttle body. I know alot of the boosted guys have them. I put mine on when I was NA and it felt like it helped .

FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
Yeah but there's not point in a bigger TB with stock exhaust. The air will be restrited back down to stock exhaust airflow once it leaves the TB. Correct me if I'm wrong.
a bigger tb aint really needed unless you have boost. or a high horsepower NA engine

Yeah that's what I figured.
Go with a DC Sport's 4-2-1 Header, the other bolts on for the LD9 give top end power. I love my header, excellent mid range power, as well as top end. I still think overall our rev range isnt much, I can tell a big difference with all of my mods around 3k up to 6k, which happens pretty damn quick, even in 3rd and 4th gears.
HO/LO manifold swap with a 56mm TB, best bang for your buck mod out !!
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
Yeah Short Hand, I like that idea too.
Right now I'm looking at...
- Cat - Magnaflow 94035 High Flow Cat
- Catback - Vibrant
- Header - OBX 4-2-1
- Already have upper/lower engine inserts to prevent header from crackling
- null
After that, the HO/LO manifold swap and 56mm TB sound like a great idea to move to. Things are looking good...just gotta get to working to make that $$$
