another story with a knocking noise, so i want to replace what i can/need while i have the motor torn apart. i was told that with only wanting to run a 75shot(not constant, just once in a while), that all i would need to replace is the pistons and the rods. is that true? i figure with the money on labor i might as well replace a good portion. so it's a go with the pistons/rods, i have the secret cams to go with it, do i really need to get studs or bearings or even valve springs? is changing them just a personal preference? i don't plan on going with forced induction at all, i want to be all motor and every once in a while with nitrous.

next question is compression. i saw somewhere that you really don't need that high of a compression. i'm talking 11 or higher. so is it a good idea to get a 9:1 and shave the head, or just get a 10:1? thanks, kc

Nope, it ain't stock.
