Well, I figured it was time to redo my exhaust on my 2.4 Auto Cavy. The design I have on it now is pretty pethetic and falling apart. My current setup is:
Pacesetter Header
Catco Cat
2.25" compression bent exhaust
Ebay fart-can
As you can all tell my current setup = really loud, super raspy! But the worst part about it is I have hit my muffler so many times leaving my local Sonic fastfood joint the muffler is hollowed out from breaking all the ceramics. So it is twice as loud and raspy. God only knows how the cops don't pull me over they just don't seem to care. I'll try and get an audio clip of how my exhaust sounds now so I can compare it to the new after I get all the parts in and installed. Oh and from hitting my exhuast so much in town most of my hangers have broken off and now my exhaust rattles like crazy when sitting. Anyways here is my new setup I just ordered of Summit Racing:
2.25" Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler
2.25" Dynomax Thrush Magnum 25" overall lenght
2.25" FlowTech Terminator Dual Exhaust Tip
Picture of the tip
And I have decided to go to a local exhuast shop and have him compression bend me some 2.25" exhaust to weld up to my Catco Cat. Tell me what you all think of the tip I think it should sound and look pretty decent. Should support my HO intake manifold, 56mm TB and intake pretty well I think. Opinions welcomed I'll post up my POS exhaust as soon as I can. New exhaust should be on late next week early week after.

I think youll like the sound... I'm very happy with my thrush resonator... Sounds mean
For a four-cylinder
Which mufler are you getting? Did you get the Inlet or outlet offset? I am looking at getting rid of my round style muffler in favor of the Dynomax Super Turbo, which seems pretty popular on the JBO. Let me know what you think when its installed.

Well, I'll let you decide for yourself, I'm going to post up video/audio clips of my exhaust not (which sounds like crap). And video/audio of the new system after it is installed so you can compare. I'll probably also put my new exhaust video on the Exhaust Topic floating around. And exterior video next to the exahust exit with a few revs, and maybe a few drive bys and a clip of what it sounds like going down the road inside the car. Because this is indeed a very popular setup on the org. I have yet been able to find anybody with the same tip I ordered. It sounds promising fromt he description, with its own resonator built in it for that little bit more of a quieter/mean sound when you get onto it. Keep an eye out for more posts for those of you interested.

Well I have the video/audio of my current setup. Excuse the quality it was done with an old digital camera. I just want to first say that my current exhaust is the WRONG WAY to do your exhaust. This exhaust is loud, annoying, and raspy it just sounds plain horrible. I'm just hoping by posting a before and after video/audio between my old and new exhuast it will show some of you that have questions on how to do your exhaust the right way the first time. So check out the video's and tell me what you think. Thursday of this week UPS says my new exhaust should be here. So that same day I will be getting my new exhaust put on and I will take video/audio of it and post them asap. For now have fun burning my ricer exhaust that is on the car now.
Inside the car, startup and take off.
Inside the car 35-90 MPH.
Outside of car, startup and reving to rev limiter.

I got my new exhuast parts in today, and made an appointment at the muffler shop 3pm on Friday. Look for video/audio real soon on the new setup.

Well, I have the new exhaust on and it sounds great. It sounds stock at idle and driving through town but once you get onto it, sounds mean as hell. Real deep and throaty, sounds like my mother's 97 Grand Prix GT with the 3800 in it. And with my HO parts up front I have people coming up to me asking if I have a v6. The closest I have come to hearing a 4banger sound like a v6. I'll get audio/video up as soon as I can, the weather is really bad right now here.

Well, the weather finaly let up enough to where I could get out at night time and get some video of my new exhaust from the inside and outside. Tell me what you all think of the sound of the new exhaust compared to the old exhuast.

Oops! The second video labled Going down the road is the wrong video. That is the old exhaust that I have posted farther up the page. Here is the new exhaust going down the road.

sounds like mine. altho mines a lil quiter. but i have the 2.2 so. and i only have the muffler and a diff tip
nice, mine sounds similar, except i got no res and 2.5" piping. it pops a lot, but hopefully the turbo quiets it down when I do the eco swap :p
I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'
I have that same exhaust setup but a different tip, I love how it sounds.
Thanks guys I love the setup and sound as well.
