I am thinking about getting a light weight pulley for my 01 z. I read alot of stuff about underdrive pullies and some people say that the lighter underdriven pullies make it idle smoother and others say that the underdriven pullies make it idle rougher. Whats gonna get me the smoothest idle, underdriven, overdriven, or light weight stock. If i understand right either of the three will still unleash some power due to the fact that they are lighter. I just installed solid motor mounts and i dont want it to vbrate my car anymore then it already does.

Not exactly true...
Underdrive pulley- increases crank rotation but lowers car accessories usage thus freeing up some hp
Overdrive pulley- Most dont go for but decreases crank rotation but increaes cars accessories usage
Lightened- Just makes it lighter. The lighter the easier to rotate. Works best with OE or underdriven pulleys
As for the vibes... Im sorry to say but your going to have to live with the vibes cause unless you go back to you stock mounts, its always going to be there. The engine is going to move regardless, thus the "energy" has to transfer somewhere. The stock mounts were there to aborsb it and not for performance use but for comfort.
(Correct me if Im wrong in any way)
Hope it helps...
...They just HATE it when you ...POINT - LAUGH - then DRIVE OFF AND AWAY-!...
I just answered these questions 4 posts down.
All Flawless I disagree.
Any thing lighter will free up horsepower from the motor. Your taking rotating mass of the engine, there is no way you will hurt performance. Any after market polyurethane mounts will cause more vibrations.

Thanks, Well I know Im not gonna get rid of the vibrations but some companies claim that these smooth things out while I have read people say that they make your car Idle rough especially with the AC on. I was just trying to get to the bottom of it before I oredered one.
Uh, pulleys dont change the 'crank speed', just the rotations per minute at which the crank pulley turns. The crank is going to turn the same speed with or withoput an undrive pulley. The differences are the size. A bigger crank pulley means the pulley has an RPM slower than the OEM pulley, because of its bigger size, and that means the accessories move slower also. Its just the opposite for a overdrive pulley. The most gain, I believe, is the lightweighted-ness...if thats a word?
LOL, sorry, im technical... and difficult.

Thanks guys...this was the part i was worried about:

I just dont want it to be worse then it is, I know im not gonna escape it for the most part although I heard HP tuners can help with it. The underdrives can be bought much cheaper then the stock sized ones or id just find a stock sized one.

Cheese your backwards.
A larger or smaller crank pulley physically does not spin faster or slower than a stock crank pulley, but the speed the belt travels
SPEEDS up or down because of its relationship to the crank shaft.
The crank shaft doesn't spin any faster or slower. A larger diameter crank "overdriven" pulley SPINS the belt at a faster revolution or RPM than a stock pulley. A smaller diameter crank "underdriven" pulley SPINS the belts at a slower RPM than a stock pulley.
Think of the AEM alternator pulley. It is larger "overdriven" in diameter than a stock alternator pulley, which makes the alternator shaft spin faster in relation to the crank shaft.
Cheese your just all backwards.

True...you dont have anymore of your 2.4 pullies do you?
Might be backwards, but I was on the right track...
