Anybody know who or where i could have the top feed conv done to my Intake mani. i have an extra one lying around and would like to attempt it myself. but boring the holes for the injectors scares me. it IS an extra so i dont mind messing up but i dont wanna risk it anyways. anybody with ideas would be greatfull
I think there was one in the classifieds very recently. If you have a drill, you can do it yourself.

yeah. i saw that. but i cant afford it. ive got a set of Quad 4 injectors and A Quad 4 fuel rail with harness and all lined up for free, and also i have an extra Plenum and Intake Runner sitting here that was also free. and if im not mistaken dont you have to weld new injector bungs in also. i have a drill press that i can use to bore the holes out so thats not a big deal.
There have been 3 different styles of top-feeds on the org now.
One used the style rail you have. It places the injectors at a poor angle (not optimal by any means). This style will require welding in new bungs or advanced multiple-stage machining.
The more common style uses the 2200 rail, which is as close to 'bolt-on' as it gets, and what I'd reccommend.

hmmm. maybe ill find a 2200 rail
now technically couldnt i just grind that little edge off that you left. i love the look of yours and want to go that route. it looks alot cleaner. and all you would have to do is grind off that edge that you didnt correct?
no its the angle of the injector. The 2.4 rail situates the injectors at a 90 degree angle to the head. The shape of the port in the head is angled like the first example.
that manifold took me about 20 hours all said and done to grind/weld/fit, etc. But of course that's because it was my first (and only) one. Do you have shop air and an industrial die grinder?

i do. i actually have access to alot of tools that people dont. now where would i go about getting these injector bungs from??
google for bosch injector bungs.
I got mine off of a billet aluminum manufacturer's website. They came with 2 outsider diameters and I cut the smaller one off and surfaced it. (used the larger diameter)
I should mention that I had to change my inlet location. It basically ran right through the power steering pump so DONT DO I T THAT WAY.
I had it changed to enter from the back of the rail.
