I was wondering if anyone has used the stock muffler clamp with the hanger around any kind of aftermarket muffler. I know you couldnt realy use it with a round muffler but alot of oval case mufflers that are sort of stock looking might. The reason Im asking is because I got a pacesetter catback and wana change the muffler, but the pacesetter muffler uses different hangers than stock.

I want to get a dynomax superturbo and dont wana pay to get it welded up and hangers welded on it, so I was gona get one thats about the same measurements of the stock muffler, with a 2.25 inlet; then use the stock hanger clamp and location, and clamp it to the pacesetter piping.

If anyone has done this, pics would be a big help. Thanks

yes you can...ive had a muffler shop that cut the bottom loop off of the hanger, then welded the top 1/2 to the muffler.
