alcohol is hihly corrosive to some types of fuel lines injectors pumps things like that im not sure what everything is set to handle?
I just cant drive 55
clean burning so smog devices arent really mandatory alcohol is cheaper than gas and produces more bang for the buck

Ethonal is just as corrosive, you would have to switch your entire fuel system to stainless steel in order to run it.
ok stainless thanks
ive got aluminum so time for change is near can stainless handle nitro fuels as well?

A guy on V6z24.com converted his car to run on E85.
He did some testing and didnt find anything seeming to corrode or eat up any pump or anything (but it did clean it good). He also can reprogram his chip (and tuning software is idea) cuz you need to get the computer to add approx 33% more fuel to run E85.
As for pure ethanol, i'm not really sure where you're going to get that. The highest concentration of ethanol you can get without a molecular sieve is around 95% and anyone who sells it has had to denature it, which is usually done by adding gasoline.
I'm pretty sure most dealerships can hook you up if your willing to pay them for it.
We have an ethonal plant near my town, and they have to dilute it with gas in order to ship it. If they don't, they have to pay huge alchohol transportation fee's and taxes, so basically, it's only 85% ethonal leaving the plant anyway.

I'm not sure where to buy it, but you can get E85 for 120ish a barrel (55gal.) which evens out to around 2.5 per gallon. So you wouldn't be saving money by buying it *yet*. You can build your own still - I don't know about where you live, but you can have a still in MO as long as you're not drinking the product - and the maximum attainable alc. percentage is 96 (aka everclear).

And I forgot to add: alcohol will not corrode aluminum, but it will corrode thin rubbers and plastics.
