i have the magnaflow duals from RKsport and it sounds like crap. even after i put a resonator on it ....it only sounds OK. It also makes a difference if your doing the whole exhaust ( header back)

If you are refering to the Magnaflow "axle back" system with the single tip for the cavalier/sunfire, it was discontinued about 6 months ago.

They only sell the full single or dual cat back systems now. We have them very low compared to $700 @ www.TurboTechRacing.com

No matter what brand catback you go with put in a resonator or it is going to sound like crap. FYI a full exhaust installed will cost you around $700

on this subject i installed magnaflow dual cat back had a lil rasp to it but it went away when the car warmed up. then i installed dc sports headers and it sounded like crap so i bought an 18 inch magnaflow resonator and it helped alot its sounds awesome until i get on it . now the dc sport headers dont have a cat on them think insatalling one would help the sound out ? need some help only when i am on it hard

I have the Magnaflow dual cat-back from RK with the 4-2-1 header. I only have rasp before the car warms up...It's new to me to hear people having problems with it not sounding good. Mine sounds great! No resonator or anything.

If anything, the street series 5x8 mufflers from magnaflow are quiet to me. Maybe because of the tuner tube inside them. I have the 22" magnaflow resonator with street series muffler. It has a smooth exhaust note. I'd like to get the race series muffler from magnaflow in hopes of getting it just a tad more aggressive.

I had the same Dual kit via RK Sport, hated the sound plus the mounting bracket welds just broke a couple weeks ago. I am going to use the 2.25 S/S piping with the Dynomax Ultro Flo SS 4x9's, Dynomax S/S 24 inch resonator, and magnaflow high flow cat.

I had the full cat back duals, till i went turbo, now it's only axle back it's 2.5 from the turbo to the axle, a lot of people tell me they really like the sound of my exhaust.

it doesnt look like you have the same mufflers i got w/ mine. i just got round straight through mufflers.
OD1 z24 sounds like he had the same since the mounting is horrible. they have 2 solid mounted straps that eventually break.

back to the OP......all your gonna find is CAT BACK. I dont think your gonna have a problem unless you do a full exhaust. You must buy a resonator along with your cat back though. I think i saw a Thermal cat back that comes with a resonator. Anyone running Thermal exhaust???

my exhaust sounded nice and deep, but loud before the vibrant resonator, i put the vibrant on there and it sounds like there is some rice stuck rattling around n my exhaust

its mellowed out but it still does that when im WOT if i havent had the car on for long.

I used to have the RKSport cat back..It was loud ..Typical of Fart cans...Then the welds broke on 1 of the mufflers..After Welding it back on 4 times..I was pissed off..I called Magnaflow to ask if they could send me a new muffler..They said nope..The only supply the mufflers to RKSport..But then he goes on to say..That Because the Mufflers say Magnaflow he has to warranty the set up..So he gives me a Reference # And tells me to go to my local Magnaflow dealer..So off I go and 1 week Later my brand new catback shows up..What a difference in Build and fix and finish..And the Mufflers sound so much nicer..I am running the pacesetter 4into1..Magnaflow cat..I have the dual set up on my Sunfire..No Resonator..But am going to put one in..It is raspy when cold but all in all it is family quite...So all in all I like the Magnaflow cat back..

get a high flow cat and the magnaflow 4x8s and you will be fine. resonators are hit and miss.. in my experience.

ive heard a cav w/ a vortech supercharger and the same magnaflow duals that i have and it sounded exactly the same.....so no....the supercharger will not change the sound of the exhaust. it will make a nice whine though

I have a megan racing catback and there is absolutely no rasp what so ever on my car and I have also heard it on a 2.4 with no rasp. If you can get over the look of a canister muffler than it's a decent deal for sure.
