there are no bolt ons
ive been told the bigger the better. I have the vibrant 18" but i know other companies make them bigger.

I'm using a 23" cherry bomb for a resonator.

It works pretty good but its starting to break in a little now... (after all... it is a glasspack).

So far it's been enough to keep the cops from bothering me (knocks on wood), and was the biggest one I could get in their.

Yeah i finally got mine quiet, it has a 26 inch glasspack feeding 6 inches into a flowmaster (40? series) muffler, sounds great, like weebel and whiteboy said the longest you can fit is better to control raspiness. For alomst 9 months i ran just the glasspack on the street and luckily got away with it. Really no boltons though. good luck on it though. Here is a pic or two.

unfinished

finished and painted

how it was before finishing it, you see it ended with that turn down behind the glasspack

ok id love to know once and for all...

is a resonator just a glass pack or does it just have the same baffling but without the 'glass-pack' part of it?

The "resonators" people buy here are actually widened, perforated cores (and for some: louvered cores) with fiberglass packing. They "technically" aren't a resonator as no one here actually tunes to the size of the exhaust by calculating the diameter and length of a section of piping needed to cancel out the higher frequency sound waves. We just buy the largest (longest) glasspack possible... since more fiberglass effectively does sthe same thing, and more than likely, does it better.

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.

I've been told that you gaining around 10 to 15 hp with the resonator . Is it true ???

You wont gain that much from a resonator. You'll be lucky to gain that on a whole exhaust and header. The resonator will probably give you some bottom end torque, and take some top end power. Its a very minimal difference. Its mostly to make your car quieter, and avoid attention from the cops. I was wondering what is the biggest resonator any of you have fit on a vibrant catback, and how did it sound with headers? Sorry to thread jack, but i think its sort of related. As for the best one, the biggest, cheapest you can find. Cherry bomb glasspacks are a common choice, you can get them in many sizes, and they are cheap. I think thats your best option. Thats what i plan on doing. Vibrant cat back with the biggest cherry bomb i can fit, and a high flow cat.

I am using a cherry bomb glasspack myself. It made my car 1/2 as loud as it used to be and gave me some bottom end torque. The exhaust note is much smoother now.

What's the diameter of the pipe

Do I need to change my O2 sensors for other ones or the original will fit with the resonator ???
