I bought a 2.3 ho throttle body from a member and I was told that it bolts right up to the 2.4. Well, the throttle shaft hits the intake manifold. So I thought that I could switch shafts. So I took the shafts out to try and switch and nothing. It does not work. But I am in a dilema. I can not get the spring back on the throttle body.Any one with pics, please post. I need to drive the car now.

dont see why it wouldnt..and i dont know what you mean by "throttle shaft"
^^^ I think he is refering to the wheel that the throttle cable hooks into.

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
Yeah paople say that it works but it doesnt i had the same problem with it hitting the intake runner but all i did was used the shaft from the 2.4 but there was a little bit of work to make it fit but im not going to go into details cause is pretty easy to do, another thing you can do is use a throttle body spacer that way you shouldnt have to change anything. As for the spring..... well to be honest with you thats damn easy to put back on also.

If you could tell me how to get it to fit with the 2.4 shaft and no spacer that would be awesome. I can not seem to get the throttle plate to sit flat when the shaft(or wheel) is bottomed out. please explain how you got it to sit, I am very interested to see, if you got pics.

wont work w/o cutting the cable end up, and maybe grinding a notch into the 2.4 intake........ UNLESS you buy yourself a T/B spacer..... then it should work just fine.
the placement for the throttle stop is different between the T/B's, so swapping the shafts wont work w/o some work.

OR drill a hole to make your own spot to put the cable in the wheel, and use the 2.3 intake.

Here is how I did it,
parts list:
Parts from the 2.3 (I used a 95 and still have cruise control)
Complete throttlebody and sensors
Parts form the 2.4
The Throttle wheel and shaft
Cable brackets
Here it goes: First off I would make sure you have all the time and tools to do this, and I wouldnt use the tb currnetly on the car incase you have issues.
Completely disassemble the 2.3 tb, and you should have both the 2.3 wheel and shaft and the 2.4 wheel and shaft, mark all the pieces as not to get them mixed up. You will need a grinder and very carefully grind the throttle wheel on the 2.4 where the shaft would come out if it went all the way through. after enough grinding the wheel and cruise control connector should pop off of the shaft, now do the same to them 2.3 wheel. Now slip the 2.4 wheel and cruise connector on the 2.3 shaft and assemble the tb to make sure its oriented correctly, and rearrange it till it is. Once it is take the wheel and shaft out of the tb and carefully wleld it back together, after it cools paint it to protect from rust. then reassemble completely and install. Its very easy and mine works to this day and i did it almost a year ago. Have any questions just ask.
