Eagle disco's Eco cranks
Tuesday, January 22, 2008 5:33 AM
Hey guys, I have a customer who ordered an Eagle crank with the timing ring from me a few weeks ago. After a few weeks of waiting and not seeing the crank I got a hold of my supplier to see what was up. They were not sure why they haden't seen it yet so they called Eagle for me. They gave me a call back the next day to say that Eagle was disco'ing the crank with the timing ring leaving only the one without the timing ring available for purchase, they wern't sure if mine had shipped out from Eagle yet. I waited another week and still no crank from my supplier so I decided to call Eagle directly to see what was going on. I was informed by Eagle directly that both Eagle cranks (with and without the timing ring) have been discontinued due to lack of sales over the last year. I was lucky enough to get the very last crank with timing ring that Eagle had in stock.

If anyone is planning on running this crank and has not gotten one yet you better do so soon. The only ones left are the ones people have in stock, once those are gone they are gone for good. Just wanted to give everyone the heads up here so that no one is surprised when they go to buy a crank and can't get them anymore.

meh, its always sad to see an aftermarket part get discontinued, but at the same time, the vast majority of people on here aren't going for the level of power that requires a forged crank, and those that are still have the option of the GM Performance parts or I think there's another crank out there that I remember PJ talking about....

hahahaha, im sorry... but it's going to be happening more and more w/ the eco as time goes by.

sooner or later its going to be a dinosaur just like the LD9 and the eco boys wont be able to brag up that part of it any longer

but yes, it does suck.. eco or no

you still have the GM crank
the sonny bryant crank, which comes in several different strokes

both of which are lightyears ahead of the eagle crank, but unfortunately it comes at a pretty steep price

but I have my eagle crank

and if I ever need a balls-to-the-wall crank upgrade either one is the way to go.

Yeah there are other options, I just wanted to give everyone the heads up. It's too bad though to see one more part is not going to be available for the eco.

they anounced a while ago they were gonna stop making them, that's why so many of us jumped on the forged crank and forged rods from that dude on ebay for $500 (it was an authorized dealer) eagle authorized a huge sale to get rid of the rest of there stock.

Thank god i got one of the last few. I still dont know if i will actually need that crank tho. Stock will hold what i am throwing at it. I am going to go through with a little more research and figure out what i want to do with it. If i come acrost not needing it i will be more then willing to sell it to you.

Do you possibly have a link to Sonny Bryant?

Just because the crank is stronger than stock doesn't necessarily render it useless if you do not plan on throwing massive amounts of power at it.

Forged cranks can be balanced easier and are usually quite a bit lighter then the stock cast unit. Just by having a lighter rotating assembly would help things immensely.
