2.3 OIl Pump Swap
Tuesday, January 29, 2008 9:16 PM
Finishing up the engine rebuild, plan on running the 2.3 Oil Pump Swap and ran into a few questions.

The Letter R Drill Bit suggested in the FAQ. It is the Smaller hole on the # 3 Boss. Just to clraify is the equivalent an 11/32?

And are the dowels fo the pump even required? If so is the correct size 7/32?

This whole process has taken me a lot longer on my rebuild. Can everyone assure me that this swap is definately worth the trouble. Would be good to hear feedback on people running the swap....

No offense, but please search. There is a thread out there where I posted pictures of everything and even listed the sizes of drill bits you need.

I don't think you necessarily have to have the dowel pins, but I would suggest them. The size I don't know off hand. Just look at teh size of the hole in the oil pump.

You do not need the dowel pins and are more likely to screw up the positioning of the pump than anything by using them.
