I know on a Honda after every time you pull the engine and install new rods and pistons, you have to sleeve the block. I'm ordering a set of eagle rods and wiseco pistons and was wondering if i needed to put a new set of factory sleeves in or if I can use the ones that are in the car now? I haven't seen any posts and searched but nothing came up under block sleeves or engine sleeves. Thanks for the help.
are we talking about sleeving a honda engine?? what kind of engine are we talking about here??

X2
But I'm guessing Eco... unless the stock one is @!#$ up no need to replace them, they can be machined like any other block.
I'm talking about the ecotec. thanks for the help. Hondas are a pain in the ass, most of the time it needs a new sleeve unless you have high dollar ones. I didn't know you could bore it since it is a sleeved block from the factory. Thanks again
Darton makes sleeves for the ecotec.. they go all the way up to 90mm but they recomend not topping 89mm on turbo applications due to the head gasket not having enough space between cylinders.

And unless you already know of a machine shop who has done sleeveing jobs and know the COSTS up front I would not even bother buying sleeves alone and trying to figure out how to install them. A lot of things can go wrong with getting a block sleeved. At the end, it can also cost you MORE than just trying to buy a block that has already been sleeved.
In about 2 weeks time, I will have sleeved blocks listed on the AllEcotec.com website for anyone who is interested. These blocks would be ready to go. Just do the final bore / hone and install your goodies inside of them!
Hey Karo do you do any fabricating? I am in need of a super high flowing header. What do you recommend? I keep changing my mind on what im goin to build with my junk yard engine and finally figured it out. I am building this one all-motor. It is going to be a pain.
not to thread jack
Karo are these going to be the big bore sleeves in those blocks? that can be bored out to 90mm?

The one, the only, ME.

2465 lbs without me
141 hp @ 6300 (ran out of rpms)
123 ft lbs @ 5200
running lean stock ECU
Its not worth sleaving an eco block, by the time you buy the sleves and pay to have a machine shop install them you could of bought a Bates race block that is already sleeved , o-ringed and bored to whatever spec you want. I sell them here in Canada for only $1800 and ready to build.

I didn't know bates made a race block. How big of a bore can i get? $1800 is a good price for a block. IF you can get me a block for 1800 with an 88mm bore then i might have to talk to you. I have a Haltech E6X ECU, and Im going to use an LS1 80mm throttle body on the GMPP intake manifold, unless my fabricator can build me one for cheaper. ITBs are too expensive and are a pain to tune. We are building this engine to run 93 fuel only, maybe 100 fuel on the track.
The problem I have is that I am located in Canada so if you are in the states the shipping will be huge. I can get ahold of Ray though and see if he will drop ship the block to you but that would be the best I could do. I will get ahold of Ray and let you know, if not just get ahold of Karo, I'm sure he could cut you a pretty good deal.

Hey thanks Raven. Im just getting started. I know that when i was ordering an sr20 for my brother from canada shipping was only $300. I have no problem paying $400. I called darton and they want $1260 to for sleeves and install. Not too bad and still way strong for an all motor ecotec! Let me know though.
