Names Justin, I got a '96 Cavi with bad engine problems, and a '90 Lumina Euro with a good engine, but bad body. Yup you guessed it, I want to put that 3.1 from the Lumina into the Cavi. Need some advice on what spacifics need to be done. I have both Haynes manuals on the cars, plus a book on the thing needed to do it. But what I need to know if measurements, and other techinal things, cause I know this has been done before. Thanks to all that reaspond.

Well, the 3.1 MPFI, to my knowledge, hasn't yet been put into a 3rd Gen. All the 3.1 or 3.4 swaps I know of have been the 3100/3400 SFI. The 3.1 MPFI uses different mounts. However, most of the info in the sticky in the 3rd gen forum should get you through it. You might want to consider using a 94 2nd Gen J-body ECM, as it will most likely have the best chance at running your 96 gauge cluster.

Since you don't have your car listed in your reg, I don't know what engine you currently have in your 96, but if it's a 2.2OHV, then you can use your current tranny. If it's a 2.4, then you need to swap the tranny as well.

Yeah, the '96 is just the stock 2.2 OHV. Thanks for the info.
