Coolant in A/c = ?wtf bbq peace out a/c

k so i've been busy working at my new job at a dealership and thought hey why not do some work on the car this weekend... so after a couple brews i figure screw this useless a/c system since it doesn't work i'll just yank it ...

notice the coolant driping out of the second smaller line coming out of the firewall... question: does that mean my heater core has a coolant leak and i prob need a new heater core?...also thats prob why my ac died if coolant was in the lines lol...

weight reduction my ass...this @!#$ is all aluminum

how she sits until i get a a/c delete pully tomorrow...

any ideas on how to plug up those 2 lines coming through the firewall? i'm assuming if i don't plug em up they could mess with my still working (yet possibly leaking coolant) heater core...

the heater core is off to the far right in that picture... it's the two rubber hoses with the squeeze clamps on them. the lines you unplugged were going to the evaporator core, which is for AC only. You can just leave it alone, or take it out and save an extra 6 ounces.

yep heater core is 2 hoses to the right of the ones i unplugged.....BUT.....why is engine coolant coming out of 2nd hose after i unplugged it ?

also entire system was purged of refrigerant before i performed the above.... also i am an odp card carrier lol

its NOT coolant coming out its the dye that is in the refrigerant. I had the same problem when i took mine out, it took about 3 days to fully drain out.

you could also take the line that went into that side and cut the end off so that you can put it back in the hole and put the nut back on, just fill the center of the hole on the pile with expoxy. Thats what i did i have pictures if u wanta see it.

If you go the a local auto parts store and tell them you have a 2.2 liter with NO a/c and ask for the belt routing digram thats all you need to remove the compressor
