There's a kit to use the 2.4 eco manifold on the 2.2, I think it's from Pace Performance!
Fill out your profile lazy ass so we know what engine your talking about. 2.2L OHV(LN2), 2200 OHV(LN2), or 2.2L DOHC Ecotec(L61).

yeah.....saying 2.2l is kinda genaric for our needs...
i filled out my profile sorry

then
this is about your only option without having a custom metal one made.
You could try installing the manifold found on the S-truck application of the LN2. There's been some talk about it on this sight before, and still nobody has reported if it fits okay & what kind of power gains have been made with it (Some think it boosts low-end torque compared to the J-car manifold). If you're willing to give it a try (And it should be cheap & easy to get hold of one, from a 'Yard maybe), you might get a gain that's unexpected: Better mileage from increased low-end torque (Won't need to open the throttle so wide just to get moving!).
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
The intakes are basically the same between the S-trucks and the Js. The runners on the trucks were angled differently for fitment issues. The runner length and diameter are approximately the same.
cavyracer1, you have an '02, which would be a 2200 OHV (LN2) which has the composite (plastic) intake manifold. Get a bigger throttle body from a '94 or older 2.3 Quad 4. They have a 56 mm diameter as opposed to the 52mm TB on the LN2s.That is more than big enough for most any naturally aspirated LN2. There is a lip inside the manifold, that can be removed, supposedly for a small gain with the bigger TB. There are a number of post covering this conversion, use the search feature at the top of this forum.
Other than that, all you can do is custom made or make it yourself, if you can TIG weld.
awesome thanks 4 the help guys i can defiantly get something done now

when i see 2.2L i think 95-97 LN2 whne i see 2200 (98-02) then if its an 2.2 ECO everyone posts ECO

You've been a member since 01' you should know that not everyone posts ECO if they have an eco.
And for your post that contributed greatly to this thread. I will award you with this special prize.
Enjoy.
for the ecotec.. they do have the 2.4l manifold.. so i had a question for someone who has the experience of having the manifold installed in the ecotec..
how out of wack did your afr go? I was planning to get it.. i'm having the wideband set up next thursday the 3rd and then i'd be set with tuning if I needed to.. but if I got the mani first then i'd run rich for a while if it really does through it for a loop..

If you look at the dyno graph provided you can see there is a loss in power until the higher RPMs. IMO this mani is not a good choice for someone lookin to bump up the power in their everyday car.
I said it before, and with my last available post for the month, I'll say it again: Looking under the hood of an S-truck, I really don't see the "fitment-issues" that are said to be had with using the J-car manifold in the dime's. So it must be a tuning issue. Otherwise, why would the same engine in the truck have a higher peak torque output at a lower RPM but have a higher horsepower output at the same RPM as the truck version would in it's application in a car? My best guess as to why they're different is because the truck needs more torque from it because it's heavier than the car, and it's gotta do it through an overdrive trans (Despite a drive axle gear ratio of 4.10:1with the automatics) while cruising at highway speeds. And making the runners longer while dropping them down like on the J-car version isn't an option because of clearance issues. That's all...
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
thanks for the cookie
maybe its this board but the other boards they always say eco or NON eco usually people with ecos like to make sure people know they have them.
if you want a new instal manifold build one and make it so you can run say a 2.4 or a Eco Throttle body, if you have a 95-97 2.2 then you know its harder to find TB for them
i believe the 2200 can use a 2.3 TB not 100% sure i'm losing all my 4 cylinder info and replacing it with V6 info please correct me if i'm wrong next time how about a double chocolate chip cookie

Tinkles....your stealing my cookie!!
The truck mani is designed for more torque (as well as fitment issues).....cause it is a truck....and is more necessary than HP, but the numbers are so insignificant it isnt worth it.
You really have VERY few options with manifolds on the 2200. RSM has an enlarged opening, as well as slightly enlarged runners, but if you are looking for something a little different, contact Phil Lindsay for a flange and build your own.
lol here I am ..... Thanks for the advertising JOHN.
I was thinking about making one for myself because im worried about the plug in the bottom blowing out with 18-20 psi! How many psi are you running john, and has it happened to you!
If you need a flange, you can pm me for a price, Im making a turbo mani for someone soon hopefully so I will be sending some prints to the shop!
Thanks

Plenty....plenty....
The only thing I had blow out was my EGR block off on the mani. I made one out of 3/4" thick steel, made a gasket, and bolted it in.....havent had a problem since
does anybody know if their is any modifying i have to do to the 2.3 tb or the manafold

You have the make some "adjustments" to the throttle cable arm IIRC.
Built 94-97 head for sale: http://www.j-body.org/classifieds/engine/47069/
also another vacuum port needs to be added for the fpr.
Most just put a "T" connector and split one of the full time vacuum fittings for the fpr.
so is there an aftermarket intake manifold for the 2.2 ECO??
2003 cavalier red, k&n cold air, pacesetter header and cat back exhaust.
^^ one thread wasn't enough?
