hey whats up guys, due to some recent rod bending issues i am getting another motor. So since i will be pulling out the motor, this seems like the perfect time to swap something better into my car, right now i have a 95 z24 2.3 manual. I have been told about a few things that will fit and about what would be an improvement. I work with a guy that specializes in cavys and cobalts, he can pull a motor and have the new one istalled in 3 hours tops. But i just wanted to know from some guys more experienced than myself what would be a good route to take in this situation, also i have another 2.3 motor in my garage but it may need some rebuilding, so what would he the better idea, upgrade to an eco, get a 2.4, rebuild my spare motor, or just find another quad 4 and put that in, thanks, also i would like to know if anyone knows how difficult it would be to swap any of these motors, and is it possible to swap in the six cylinder motor i think its a 3600, i think, i know i have seen it done somewhere
if it can't win a race it better win a show
eco swap would be a pain in the ass
but worth it

it's much easier then swapping an eco, and you won't be disappointed.
2.3ho ftw did that swap on my grand am and loved it. so do it.
they are all correct...the 2.3 High Output quad4 is a direct bolt on in your car..even wiring and pcm will work...
.no wiring changes needed!!!!
so have your friend find you the old HO quad and drop it in..itll bolt up to everything you got...and when you get it make sure you ever EVERYTHING with it..including manifolds..there are only a few things that you will need to keep off your old engine..like the alternator, and a couple other things iirc
