I have a question for everyone. I bought a head from someone on the forum. It had a 3 angle valve job. 1mm oversize valves. Port and Polish job. Comp roller rockers. Dual valve springs and it looked to have been cut to make sure it was flat. I run a 1992 cavalier 2.2 at a 1/2 mile circle track. My problem was after a couple of fast laps I lost power. Number 2 and 3 spark plug had been what looked like they had been detonated. Thought maybe the valves were too tight. So I replaced the plugs readjusted the valves went out on the track and the same thing happened. Anyone have any thoughts. I ran regular gas. Thanks all.
Gerry
can you post a pic of the plugs?
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
Tried attaching pictures of plugs. But can not figure out how to attach.
It's on 2 & 3? Those are sister-cylinders on that engine, so they share the same ignition coil. Have you fully checked your ignition system (Just a thought)?
Go beyond the "bolt-on".

exactly what i was thinking....btw you have to be premie to attach, email me pics, i will attach them.
I ran this last tuesday. It seems the spark plug issue is ok. But the problem is no top end power. I run in 3rd gear. The engine gets up thier ok but once there it has nothing its just dead. Again before I changed heads and everything was stock the engine ran well good power at top end. The only difference is the roller rockers and push rods. Everything else is the same before the changes. Any ideas.
Thanks
Gerry
Well if the head was ported and polished with bigger valves, wouldn't that mean you need more fuel???
