Cobalt inj in a 2000 LD9

So yeah I had a customer come to me today for some tuning and he had a set of cobalt ss injectors. Well it turns out that the injectors are too short and will not seal in the head. I know some people on here have run them before in their LD9 but I would like to know how. The only thing I can think of is to drill out the mounting holes on the rail to allow it to sit a little lower on the head. Basicly the injectors will seal as long as you don't have the rail bolted down, you have to lift up on the rail to get the bolts in which in turns makes the injectors loose in their holes. If I dill out the mounting holes I should be able to get the rail to sit where I wanted it but I thought I would make a post and see what others think...hopefully from someone who has run these injectors in their LD9. Thanks

Yep, thats exactly what you have to do. Slot the fuel rail mounting bolts about a quarter inch. I just did this yesterday to a spare rail I have and test fitted them on a spare motor and they fit fine.

I'm running these injectors on my 01 LD9. I took a dremel and worked the area on the rail that sits on the head so it will go down lower. Works great!!

John- Did you use an afpr or hpt to adjust for them at idle and what not? How bad would it be like at idle going from the 310cc's to the lsj's? I want to put mine in but may not be able to meet up with my hpt buddy for a few days or so. I want to get them in soon due to my leaning out problem.

Yep I gotta do this, probably next week once HPTuners releases the fix I need to flash my car.

And to icemike89, all you do is change the injector constant to the right number in HPTuners, extremely easy... Quit going WOT if you're leaning out, it's not that hard to avoid. Patience. You can wait a few days for your buddy to reflash your car..
