Alright i am going to do a 2.4 swap sometime this year and i also want to S/C it. The one question i had was, How much pounds of boost can the stock 2.4 take with a S/C on it (if any.LOL)? Another question was, Do i have to update all of the internals in order to make a stronger bottom end for the S/C application? Also if i do build up the bottom end, what would be a good suggested amount of boost to use for the street?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

Most people are running upto 7 psi from the M45 kit
There isnt really a safe amount of boost its all dependant of what kind of condition your motor is in
I have not been on here for a while so Im not sure of the full detail but it looks like you have the 2.2 in there...
I understand the tranny with that motor will not work with a 2.4 so that may need to be swapped out too.
Plus the supercharger kit is not intended for pre 99 so be ready for fuel mods, and some tuning.
I know the wire harness is different too but I dont know which parts...
If Im wrong on anything people, please correct me.
Thanks Craig for the info and also i forgot to mention that i have access to everything needed for the swap. As for being wrong I don't think your wrong cause after doing some research on here i think you were right.
Darren please correct me if I'm wrong. This is what i gathered from your info " i can run a S/C on a 2.4 with stock internals?" ( as long as it is a decent engine in good condition)

Yup GM had the kit designed to run on a Stock 2.4
The GM relfash only works on the 2000 plus LD9s so if you are going to be swapping do everything from a 2000 plus to save headache

You don't have to swap to a Y2k harness. I am running a GM SC @ 6-7psi for 5k now ( over 1.5 years ) without an issue. I depends on who does your tune

And you can use the high impedance injectors from the it even if you have 1999.0 low-impedance stock.
