well I installed the new motor today and when we hooked the OBX header back up everything sat closer to the firewall and heater hose it's about 3/8" from the heater hose and about 1/2" from the firewall I don't rememeber it being that close before. can anyone else with this header tell me how close it is to there firewall and heater hose and is there anything I can do to stop it from melting my heater hose anyone know why it seems like with this 2.4L it looks closer then with my old one?

I can't really help you with this problem, except offer that you may be able to dent the firewall a bit to give clearance and if you have all poly motor mounts and trans mounts you shouldn't have a problem. I do however have a question. I just got an OBX header, mine has a 4-1 design, then a flex pipe, then an intermediate pipe. Was yours like this? Did you retain your cat because it looks too long to just bolt up where the cat is. Did you have to cut the intermediate pipe and weld the stainless steel onto a new catalytic converter?
