Ok, just wanted to make sure here....
I have my newly built 2.4L engine full of el-cheapo 10w30 flowing thru a 2.3L oil pump conversion. i have a oil pressure sending unit and pressure gauge... as soon as i start it, the needle jumps up to 100psi... and stays there for the first few minutes of driving...
after a little while, the needle will drop to around 75psi... and fluctuates a lil around that area...
but it never drops below 70-75ish.... and seems to like it up around 100... (i am not sure, my gauge may not even go above 100psi.. but it seems to stay just under 100psi... but it all seems kinda high if you ask me... dont most engines run around 50-60 psi?
can you have TOO much pressure? is 100psi a bad thing? or should i be happy about that?
mind you i am still breaking the engine in, and hardly get it much above 45mph... so it may be too early to really tell much... but i just want to make sure i am not hurting it with that much pressure.
where is the sender?

sender is in a oil filter bypass thingy....
a little aluminum ring that goes between the filter and the block allowing you to add the sender...
thats not a very accurate place to get a reading from. I reccomend you put it in the cam tower where the stock dummy light sensor is. My stock ld9 shows 80-90psi when the sender is in the same place yours is. In the cam tower it shows 30-40.
Put it in the head where it belongs.

Others that have used that same location have had very high readings. Put it in the head.

Like suggested, put it on the cam tower!! You will get 75 psi at startup and that is plenty.. I cracked a big smile when I first saw my 75psi on startup.. A long way from that 5-10psi I used to have on the old engine when warm.

Cold-?
Warm-?
WOT-?
