i have a 97 sunfire with a 2.2 auto. number 3 cylinders rings are toast. i found a 2.2 out of a 98 cavalier. i know they changed somethings between these years but what would i have to change to put this in? would i need the computer? i live in a small town and this is the only engine i can find and its a really good deal. thanks.
you can just swap the head, and pistons over and it will work when i first put my car together i used a 97 block
if i was to put the whole 98 cavalier engine and trans in my car, do i only need to get the computer then or the harness too? its a 4 speed auto instead of the 3 speed. both engine and trans have low miles and im getting an amazing deal on it. thanks.
You would want the whole computer and wiring harness if you swap over both. The 4 speed trans has a different tune than the 3 speed.
