okay i dont want to hear about how much of a POS the LN2 is, i just want to know if swapping from a pre 98 ln2 to a newer 2200 would be beneficial considering they have differences. thanks for any replies
Not worth it if there isn't a problem with the current motor...

yeah i wouldnt be doing it anytime soon i was just wondering because ill be driving around 100 miles everyday starting in august until i can find housing for college. my motor has already showed signs of weakness at almost 150,000 miles. but i was thinking it would be better because of the different pistons, head design, top feed injection, etc

None of that really makes a difference on a non-boosted engine. At 150k though, I would suggest you start thinking about replacing the timing chain before it starts feeling even more sluggish..

already did it about 2000 miles ago lol. the tensioner snapped in half. and im planning on low levels of boost in the future which is why im even considering the swap for those reasons. to me, the pre-98 ln2 is a giant money trap with hella DIY mods that need to be done. just looking to ease things up a bit. hell, you cant even find a TRUE CAI for the pre 98.
