That's a true cold air intake while the first one you mentioned is a warm air intake as it draws air from inside the engine bay.
The intake Philly suggests puts the filter into the fender well for true cold air ingestion and not hot air from the engine bay.

Yeah. truly I don't care whether it's "CAI" or "WAI" because they are almost the same in my book. All I'm worried about it eliminating the $h!tty plastic plenum that covers my s3xy red valve cover as cheaply as possible without it looking like complete garbage

The velocity of air is so great that it won't have any heat soak effect at all.
Ever have a great run in your car, get out, and immediately feel your intake piping?

Thought so.
Years ago I did testing on this between cai and wai and the results were published with what I'm saying here.
Cai is just that, cooler air from the wheel well that has little to no time to heat up from the engine bay.

That is a great intake! I had the polished one on my former '02 Sunfire SE Sedan and it fit, looked and performed great. My only suggestion is to get a quality air filter for it i.e. AEM Dry Flow or K&N (I used an AEM Dry Flow filter) because the one it comes with is cheap and crappy. Even if you spend another $40.00 or so on a decent air filter, you're still
way below the price of a real AEM. You may also need a small rubber grommet for the IAT hole because the kit I got didn't come with one, but they can be found any auto parts or hardware store for a couple bucks so it's not a big deal.

Wow that's exactly what I'm looking for. Definitely planned on a decent filter; I know the ones they provide with the kit are junk. As for the FAI, I had all the plans in the world to fab something up (my family owns a garage with all the tools I could ever need). Then I moved to Boston, where I have no tools, no garage, and no jack. I recently paid someone to change my oil. It hurt... a lot. I never had to do that before in my life. I also requested that the mechanic put the old oil filter gasket in a plastic baggy I supplied to eliminate the possibility of it sticking on and him not noticing. I trust no one.

Just ordered one of those long ram air intake kits, it was only 93.57$ shipping included to canada. Been looking for a kit like this one for a while and its hella in-expensive

Nope..but the drivers wheel and liner needs to be taken out.
