good set of springs and shocks are going to cost more than $500.
but if you want to save for that later, you can get strut tower bars, rear sway, lower control arm bushings

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

save it for a decent one, if your looking for something that is closer to your price range, get some KYB AGX shocks and i think what people are matching them with is the Eibach Sportlines.

If you want something nice, get koni yellow and road magnet springs, seems like that is what everyone is going with since their release.

If you positively absolutely need to spend the 500...I would suggest front and rear sway bars and a front strut tower brace. This would provide you with a very noticeable increase in handling if your sunfire is a base and doesn't have sway bars to begin with. Otherwise save up and get some nice struts and springs. The combinations are endless....there are alot of different parts out on the market for the jbody suspension wise now.

Do you plan on any racing, just want to go for looks, how are the roads in your area? Those are some things you should consider before getting a pair of springs and struts. I'm happy with the drop on my Tein S-techs (1.75F1.5 R) and my Koni Yellow struts. but I really noticed an increase in my handling when i got my sway bars installed as they complimented everything nicely. I tend to go drag racing every so often as well as go to many autocross over the course of the year as well. Over all i'm very happy with my setup.

Hope this helps, if you have any other questions feel free to ask there are quite a few knowelgable people on here and many other helpful ones.

Best of luck
