I had a few questions about the AVIC-N1 unit that maybe someone who knows a lot about this unit or who has had previous experience with can help me out. First question is does the speedometer on the unit display the proper speed via supplied gps antenna or are there wires I need to connect to the vehicle somewhere? And also I have heard that upgrading the N1 unit to the N2 disc will make it so my vehicle has to be moving to show DVDs. Is this true? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry on that second question what I meant to say was will upgrading my unit to the N2 disc make it so I CANNOT bypass the e-brake to watch DVDs while driving, if that makes any sense, because I want to avoid that... lol thanks guys!

n2 takes some work to play video will driving. Also you need to tap the VSS wire for the speedo to work.

DONT UPGRADE THE N1 YOU WILL LOSE THE ABILLTIY TO USE THE NAVI AND DVD WHILE MOVING!!!!


IF you solder the brain it doesnt always work and you can damage the unit


in order to get the speedo to be 100% accurate you need to hook up the VSS wire..
