well i just got my tax return in a couple of days ago and i just picked up a k&n typhoon CAI and just 2 secs ago ordered an APR full 2.5 inch exhaust and APR ecu upgrade
well i went to put in the intake and then took it for a spin and HOLY @!#$ what kind of gains do you normally get from just a cold air intake cause i noticed a huge difference
what do you think i will be running in my gti after i have all this good stuff installed

CAI + 1.8T = no gains, it's more noise then anything.
APR upgrade, not sure about their specs but probably around 40hp and 50tq
TB exhaust = 10hp, mostly mid to top range

hmm who knows still feels better but i guess it could all be in my head lol the apr chip says 40 whp and 50 wtq and you really think that the full 2.5 inch with a 2.5 inch DP only going to gain 10 hp that sucks poopy lol owell though with all of that done i should really put down some good numbers

why not? my brother loves his Golf and hasn't had any problems with it. and they're one of the safest cars on the road.
my brother is currently debating on either trading in his 04 Golf GL for a brand new GTI or keeping his gold and buying an 03 Honda CBR 600...i keep telling him to keep his car and have a bike but he really likes the new GTI's.

although i might have to agree.....VWs are mechanically sound but there electronics suck......i just got the car and right after my 90 day dealer warentee expired my alternator went and it cost me 240 bucks what a "bend over and take it" lol you know what i mean but other then that i love it for 1900 bucks even with an auto im told i could run 13s not bad i think
also one complaint is the gas milage really sucks lol 22 for a 1.8 i dunno my old talon tsi got like 27

which octane APR chip did u get?
a local shop here allows u to have a FREE 6 hour APR tune to see if u like the gains with ur driving style.
taking my brothers as soon as weather is warm so i can beat it up and see if its worth purchasing.

^^^^^ i got the 93 octane chip....i called apr and they said that it should perform just fine with 92 but the garaunteed HP numbers would be a tad less but i dont have to worry cause around here there is this place called "Race and Go" it has 95 premium for only umm like 2.56 a gal not bad thats were i always go to fill up

I still get 30+mpg highway
Auto 1.8T with those mods, mid 14's at best probably. After a year on vortex, I've never seen an auto 1.8T with the stock turbo go much faster than a 14.2 or so... there may be faster ones out there but i don't exactly search for auto information since i have a manual... Just make sure you change your trans fluid at 30K, no matter what the dealer tells you lol.
