the G5 and Cobalt are not J body's

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Not quite...
When the Sunfire and Cavalier were discontinued, as was the J-body chassis.
The Cobalt and G5 are on a redesigned platform named "Delta"
i see, so the J body is dead? every good car must be cut off at some point , take the Escort for example it was built from 1980-2004 or 05 (US version) (Euro version is still being built), the cavalier came out when 81 or 82? thats a long time for one model to be built

you consider the escort a good car?
and u call a Cobalt a good car!!????
A cobalt is 20 times the car an escort is.... No offense to the guy with the escort
***Looking for a BLUE 03+ STOCK cavi wing pm me if ya got one you wanna sell***
no the cobalts not a jbody and for the whole escort thing yes the cobalts a lot of a better car then a escort is. i should no i had a 96 escort LX pos and died at 120k
1982 was the first yr for jbody! It all ended in 05 and thats a long run for one platform being it was used for cavs/sunbird then renamed sunfire.Gm did something that sold lots of them wether it was solid no issues or not.I like my first gen a whole lot.
Yep, 82-05, the longest non-stop automobile run in automotive history...
Not bad cars, not great, but not a crap car...
The escort is making a comeback on the mazda 5 platform next year, or so I hear.
the best escorts ever built, were built by mazda...so it wouldn't surpise me lol
I had a 97 ford Escort with 261K on it (winter beater for 3 years in a row). Then i sold it for $250 lol. I beat the crap out of that car very very badly (off roading, hill climbs, 9 large guys in/on it). NEVER once gave me trouble or left me stranded. My sunflower however was a night mare with not starting about every 3-6 months with 90k on it.

I bought an 88 Escort for $650 about 2 years ago. Turned around and sold it for $1,000 a year later. Who'd a thunk it?

both my escort wagons had the timing belt snap lol

J = Cobalt = Escort = Focus = Neon = Every other POS domestic economy car out there.
You forgot = civic = sentra = every other import POS economy car.
They are economy cars... they are supposed to be the crappiest cars everyone makes. Its like.... the point.

Maybe Im just pissed, pissed that my freinds are spineless, What else would you
call abandoment some night, when you're in a fight, and they could make things right?
Spineless. I miss some of my old friends, the ones who you could count on,
bet a huge amount on, the fact that they'd always have your back... Its like a kick in
the sack, just knowing, you've got nothing to fall back on. @!#$ this, Im done.
1990 escort was my first car, paid $400 for it sold it for $450 at 290,000 KM. The only thing I did was change the oil, absolutly great starter/winter beater.

Not to contradict, but Ford has at least 2 platforms that I can think of that are older. The Fox body that ran from 1978 to 1993 completely unchanged and from 1994 to 2004 as the revised SN-95. Then you have the Panther platform for it's current full-size Crown Vics which has been existing since 1978, but even the Panther is just a revision of a platform that dates from 1969 at the latest and maybe even as early as 1965.
In my opinion, this is probably the oldest platform still on the road.
It was 82-06, but you were close.
