I'm sure I'm missing something, but why would going the diesel route be what you're looking for. I know diesel engines have a tendency to last...forever..but don't they usually get worse mileage than gasoline engines? I'm a total diesel noob btw.
Will race for food
..check out my miscellanous mods
I'm so happy it's not all wierd looking like the Civic, or everything else Honda makes. But I love it, especially the coupe. I'll celebrate gettign my Engineering degree with one of these in a few years.
Damn, that red coupe is sweet..
Somebody will buy that and stick a damn fart can on it, you watch.

Nooooooo dude, infact completely the opposite. Diesel consumes a lot less.
The big advantage of diesels is that they are about 30 percent more fuel efficient than gasoline engines. So, with a clean diesel, Honda could sell in the United States an Accord family sedan that gets more than 40 mpg on the highway. Honda's diesel Accord sold in Europe gets 44 mpg.
Honda will replace the non-successful Accord V6 hybrid with a new ultra-clean range of diesel engines that could be that some have been reaching 60mpg. The company claims this diesel engine will be as clean as a gasoline engine.
The new clean diesel engine is based on the current 2.2 i-CTDi. Honda previously presented at the technology convention in California an European Accord with a sophisticated version of the 2.2 diesel, and capable of 62.8mpg.
The new engine will use a catalytic converter that reduces nitrogen oxide output by converting it to ammonia, and then use the ammonia to further neutralize the remaining NOx.
And with me, I want it with a manual, since Honda makes one the smothest manual trannies in the industry.

Goodwrench already covered it, but this is what a lot of people think. You're not the only one. A lot of people think of dielsels as the dirty and unreliable smokers of the 70's and 80's. Honda coming out with a diesel should seriously change people's perceptions. It's a Good Thing.
And I like the way the coupe looks.

The front looks right off the new Lancers.
Does Honda sell a diesel equipped car in the EU? If so, this might just kick other manufacturer's butts into gear and get affordable diesel cars on the market here.
it looks bigger than the current one

1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
Does this mean a new Acura TSX is coming soon? or are they gonna put that off for a few years yet?
red coupe: Front = new lancer... Rear = civic. Its not that original of a design, but I like it nonetheless...
Id like to see diesel engines used more for some reason, I have a fascination with them... and I know diddly squat about them
Oh no its a mildly more agressive and considerably less dumpy Camry. Not a big fan but a Honda diesel could be interesting. The coupe is pretty sweet, give it ten years then break out the type R stickers!!
that diesel would be a very nice addition to the CRV and the Element....
1997 RedR - ZedR
I was waiting for this....I'll be trading in the cavalier r for a 4door EX or a coupe...not sure yet....next year though, when I'll be almost done with school

CaviFL45
I'll take a black coupe with the sedan tail lights please!! Honda did a good thing, no matter what cars they resemble
On the other hand....you have other fingers.
