They were supposed to start hitting dealer lots on the 31st. So the first one should sell VERY soon. I recently priced one for myself, Silver with the Sunroof as the only optional thing I picked for it, and it was $22862 before taxes any trade in or any of that stuff. Now I just need to gather up a decent sized down payment for it.

Same engine they're talking for the GXP Solstice, Redline Sky and the HHR SS. There's a write up on it in Car and Driver in the April Issue. Sounds like fun to me.

They said "111hp over the base 2.2L and 88 HP over the optional 2.4L" - C&D Magazine Page 122 April 08 issue.

But it's built by dodge weighs seven metric tonnes. This 260 HP car will actually go fast.

I'm not disappointed with my SS/SC at all, I can actually mod it

Don't get me wrong stock for stock its nicer and faster, but you really cant do much with it, so for the person that wants a fast out of the box bang for the buck its great but its not really a "tuner" car

The PCM is pure gibberish in HP tuners with all that VVT crap, beyond an intercooler and exhaust upgrade you cant do anything. Cant upgrade the injectors to support a turbo swap because they are basically one-offs that no other engine uses being a direct injection motor, same deal with the pistons and the head one-offs. So doing the little that you can you might get 260-270whp tops out of it.

With the LSJ turboed or supercharger swapped to the Harrop blower 350-400whp is easily attainable, just doesnt have the electronic goodies the new SS has

Still not a chance in hell that it will be faster than his 300.

A 300 is such a different kind of car, Im not sure why it's even mentioned here. The advantage of RWD is lost in a huge heavy car. Other than the drag strip. Woohoo.

My LNF is a pretty nice engine. Althouh the torque nanny is a drag. I was hoping my new ride would be a killer in cold weather, but the comp pulls boost. The summer, it allows upwards of 20 to match promised power. And it does. My engine can lope up hills at 1800rpm. not bad!

There is ton's to do already with the lnf. Easily matching the performance of modded LSJ's. Many have reported 300hp. Some new box tunes allow 23lbs. Tuning is limited, but timing tables and fuel trim are supported by HP tuners. I expect additional support once the SS/TC is out a while. The fuel system has not been maxed out so far. Direct injection is a different world altogether. GM staged upgrades are due for the Solstice in 09. Even if they do not offer staged ugrades for the Delta, the new programs for the LNF will help with cracking the software. There has been a reported test car with 425 ft/lbs with nothing but tunning.

The magazine racing between the LSJ and LNF is certainly not resolved. I'll be racing a modded LSJ with my LNF soon. Well see.

The T/C Cobalt SS does the 1/4 in the low 13's and 60 in the mid 5's. It WILL hang with your 300. BTW the engine is tunable but the DI, not the VVT, makes it more difficult, but once it's fully cracked you can expect some HUGE gains.

I really don't see the SS/TC being low 13's stock. It has the roughly same power and weight as a Neon SRT-4 which is a 13.9 second car stock. A stock SRT-8 300 will run low 13's or high 12's in stock form.

My big question is...can I get an automatic??

Im 99% sure I read an article on the HHR SS and its available with some sort of auto tranny. I would have bought a SRT-4 Neon if it had the auto option like the PT GT. I had little more than passing interest in the 'balt SS/SC cause it was 5 speed only. I know, stick is faster...bla bla bla. I just dont care for it.
