reading the comments it says the motor reved to about 16,000 rmps and the only thing left worth anything was teh intake manifold.

One of the guys at the dealership did that with a brand new RSX-S. We figured it would have been about 14000RPM, but the engine still ran, not too smoothly, but who knows? He was fired shortly after that.
I'm surprised it would allow it to go into first while driving on a new RSX-S. It would be nearly impossible to shift into first while driving in my 91 Camaro. If you even thought about first it would grind.

I thought so too, but apparently you can. Something to do with it being a racing trans maybe? There have been quite a few Honda's that came in with messed up engines from people going first instead of third.
My car locks out first above 32km/h.
