Need the JBO's help on this
Tuesday, April 11, 2006 1:20 PM
I'm still playing around with ideas for my car and what to do as far as changing it. I've had an overwhelming amount of people think id be stupid for tearing off the widebody. The more I think about it, yes, I would be stupid to do that.

So ive been kicking the idea around on what to do as far as making the widebody "better". There are two main ideas that I have going on right now....

1. I could reshape the widebody to blend alot better into the body of the car, more along the ideas of a WRX's type flares, and for example anthoney jones car.

2. I could still reshape it a tad and tie the widebody into the doors to make it more complete.

Either way id be getting rid of the spoiler and going with the brickyard. Id have to redo the rear of the widebody. But the idea is to blend in the outer pieces of the brickyard spoiler right into the widebody, that would be a little custom touch to make it a little different. Id also definitly be changing the bodykit. I hate the ass end of my car so its going to be completely different.

Just give me some ideas... I'm trying to head into a new direction with this car like I said earlier.

Heres a pic for reference....

Get another car and start over.

Sorry Meck, the color is wretched, the hood makes me cry in my sleep, the widebody just doesnt work for me, maybe cause of the fenders I dunno....

I do like the fact your changing spoilers, but I feel like you have the ability to have an awesome car, but I think you should honestly design the car to how you like it and not what others think, not that I am complaining because I ask for alot of opinions too, but I think you should get a general idea of what YOU want and go from there.

part i dont like is the corners of the front bumper, just so much space for the car its on. same thing goes for your rear bumper. its esp. apparent in your sig when u look at the back end. it just keeps going and going and going. tone it down a bit maybe reshape the corners of the front bumper maybe adding some nice fogs or a vent or something. then maybe trim back the eyelids to their not so blantant and do something with the hood. those vents just look way to big for the car they are on

Do your own thing, but stop trying soo hard to make ur car look like something we've never seen. It doesnt need to look like its from mars. If I'm not mistaken you have a 3800 in ur car..? If you HAVE to do something to the body, do something that will help with downforce or something...

My vote is to wait till winter to do anything so you can enjoy the car while there is nice weather.

IMO, the doors do not flow with the rear section of the widebody. You have the natural line from the door but the rear 1/4 is flat.
Then there is also the fact that the widebody just stops. Make the door flow into the rear 1/4, or sand down the rear 1/4 so that it is level with the foor...
Also, make the widebody flow into the bumpers. I believe you did this with the rear, but the front doesn't appear to flow.

It's all about the flow man, all about the flow.

i say switch the bodykit get the brickyard and get a stock hood and put on the eyelids imo that would look sick...but with the bodykit get ones that not so low to the ground so u can get that wheel gap out of there any get it smooth...thats all i have to say about that

i say widebody xenon or aerogear to be different, different hood, and continue the widebody to the doors. id also be a fan of regular fenders and a different color, maybe a blue then put the blue rings on the rims.

christ guys im just looking for opinions.... Everything on the car is going to change, even the interior. And no im not starting over on a new car, that would be even dumber. I am going to build it how I want it, I just posted this to maybe get some ideas. In the end its still going to be built 110% how I want it, regardless of what some people think.

seriously, just throw some ideas out there, except paint and headlight / taillight conversions

im telling you do a smaller widebody on the trd kit....like you said kind of like the WRX fenders and what not. That clean look w/ the 3800 is very nice.

^^^agreed. I would try to make the widebody not so noticeable. Try molding it on so there are no abrupt, blocky edges. Basically make it as smooth as humanly possible. If that is even possible.
