03-05 Cavalier Headlamp Lenses...
Tuesday, July 17, 2007 6:30 AM
My headlight lenses have major cataracts.

Are these any good?

I don't want to spend my life savings on the stock ones...

Here's the before and after...

This is where I like to get aftermarket parts from...

The light, it is bright!

I adjusted them for slightly longer range on the low beams, but not to be so high I might blind anybody. Either way they're stuck where they are at because the adjusting things were slightly too long to fit where the stock lights are and I broke them, but I also fixed them with Krazy Glue and ingenuity. It was that or either too high or too low. So for future reference, you need to file off 1/8 of an inch off the top back of the adjusting screw thing so it will fit.

I now note that when I hit my high beams, they really do light up the night like high beams, instead of "another 6 inches ahead".

So my Krazy Glue thing didn't work, and I ended up finding a way to use the stock adjustment thingies in the aftermarket lenses. That works much better, and now they stay in position better. Do note that they are not straight, so adjusting the lights after they are installed is much difficult.

If you buy these lenses, make sure you chop off the plastic part hanging out of the adjustment screw thing on the lenses. Otherwise, it won't go in because it hits the chassis.

well after reading all the trouble you had, I'd sooner make my own than spend $90 plus $45 shipping (wtf is with that anyways?)

It's better than spending $300 + shipping, that's what!
