Additionally, even with the said witness, the only one that knows the true events that occured is lying in a hospital bed as we speak.

There could have been any number of reasons as to the accident. All of them are merely speculation until such time we hear it from Chris.

I was messing around today and I decided to see roughly how fast I could get going in a 1/4 mile. I used the odometer(trip), which I know isn't too accurate but it should provide me with a fairly correct measure. The fastest I could get going is around 80. Maybe I didn't completely go for the extra .05 but I don't think it would have made much of a difference. I always thought my car was semi-fast, it keeps up with a 1.8T with Intake/front mount/BOV (basically I don't feel like anything is wrong with it). Now I think I may be having some problems? Any ideas? Average 1/4 speeds for the Z24 is around 89 right? And I have a few (very minor) upgrades.

I know this is going to be a pretty harsh statement, but I got banned for going against JimmyZ's oppinion on street racing. Of course it is not something that people should be doing, but you and other went out of your way to find humor in telling them to die, and hope you get STD's, and other rude remarks. I continously said that making such ridiculous comments as everyone in the VS forum was completly unecessary. Jimmy, alls you said was, street racing is illegal, and J-Body won't condone it.

Clearly, Chris raced on the street and drove recklessly according to this post up above.

I don't care if I get banned, but Jimmy, now you understand why I stood up for the street racers. Not because street racing is the ultimate in cool, but no matter what anyone says, people are going to do it. Of course it is foolish, reckless and none the less illegal. But does that really make it right for people to insult people to no end??? And to think you honestly thought you were pretty funny having your Post name " Die Street Racers...Die". Hope your happy Jimmy.

And I damn well know it wasn't just JimmyZ in this community that wished terrible things against people that didn't continously obey the law. So many two faced people on this community, it is a terrible loss for everyone involved. It is even more terrible that it took the death of someone to realize how cruel you people really were.

I can only hope that Chris Shelley survives, and the people that are guilty of being so inconsiderate of others feelings start realizing what charma has in store for you.

I knew it would come to this, and who better to drag this thread in this direction than our old friend Meowman (aka Jared W, aka Michael Smith). I was beginning to notice a pattern to your posts but didn't put it together till now. Is this duplicate account number 3 or 4? I've lost count.

If you think you're going to make me feel bad for what I've said about street racers, you're SADLY mistaken. I still stand by each and every statement I've made. That, however, is not the topic here. You never were very good at focusing on the topic at hand.

Screaming about blame and trying to divide this community is pointless. You seem to be good at that though. It's a shame someone as shallow as you has to use an event like this just as a way to stir up trouble.

It remains to be seen what happened in this accident. We don't know for sure, except for spotty, possibly unreliable reports from people that claim to have been there or nearby. My sentiments for street racers and other reckless, irresponsible drivers notwithstanding, there are more important things to take care of here first. Like I told Scout...give the man a chance to OPEN HIS EYES first. Then maybe we'll start talking about what happened. I've said I have my theories about the speed of the car and how it was being driven...those theories serve no good purpose posted here and that's why I've withheld them. You should do the same.

as president of the Texas J's id like to offer our prayers to Chris, families, and friends involved in this sad ordeal.

R.I.P. Kasey Burleson

though theres always the few that find an argument (esp in the face of death and someone in ICU) majority of the org family is beside the families and thats what counts. the few times anyone will see this community come together for the most part. its great to see the j community come together and hopes the families can see such post and see that though most on here don't know much about Chris he was a part of this community/family and we send our prayers

Sarah please keep us informed and let the families know the offerings we give/share!

Heres my take on this and I garauntee that I am 100% correct.

You have memebers going into the versus forum dogging street racers, making comments like wishing death on someone for being stupid or Borsty saying "go ahead and die now" but I can bet that things like this being said are only being said to prevent the street racer or the typical speeder to not do it again! If someone who street races daily and is lucky enough to post it on here gets critisized, it's only to let the street racer/speeder know how dumb it is and to not do it again! If a known "I love to street race" member on here god forbid was to get into an accident where a death occurred or air lifted/ICU, every member here or the majority of members will come together like we are doing for Chris!

There have been certain members on here who I have had arguments with and certain members on here who I have argued with about how dumb street racing is but I garauntee if those members who I have had problems with were to god forbid get into an accident, you bet your ass that Im gonna show my support for their loss or recovery.

At this point, this is beyond if Chris was at fault. The main point here is that there is a kid in the hospital right now who is fighting for his life with a family that is worried to death about it and a female who was just a baby who loss her life with her family in mourning that needs all the support they can get.

Scout....I fully understand where your comming from and I am not gonna say anything negative to anything you posted because it's your opinion and it is understandable in my eyes but everyone heard what you had to say and you heard what the majority had to say so we as a group/family should just leave this topic as a support topic/thread.

Chris....good luck buddy, my family and I are praying for you and to the family of the girl who passed so young.....my family and I give our deepest sympathy.

I f the families involved are reading this just keep us updated please.

Thank Dave, mods and JBO.

well i hope i dont get banned for this but JimmyZ you need to stop throwing your weight around here since because your the mod of this place doesnt give you all the power to ban somebody because they put there option about this wreck. but micheal is right about this wreck it was wrong for chris for speeding and switching lanes like that and killing insentive girl cuz by chris's action on the road.

well, besides for the insensitive pricks, this post has pretty much touched me, im not one to cry, but reading the myspace pages for both of them drew me to tears, this is sad. im not ganna lie, i usually am not a big fan of JimmieZ, but i want to thank him for letting this thread going, even though there is some uneeded bickering going on. Im also not one to be religious, but my prayers do go out to everyone involved.

some people need to keep some thoughts to themselves, you think he should be prosocuted IF he makes it, thats great, but drop it. there are friends and family of chris who are reading this post, try not to make yourself look like the a$$hole just because you feel the need to be a prick. not needed at all.

i would just like to express my condolences and prayers to all involved. Hopefully we can be updated and informed a bit more soon.
Keep pullin Chris and RIP Kasey

Re: Fatal Ohio JBO member accident....

I would first off like to express my condolences to all of the families involved, and Chris - pull through for us, we are all praying.

With that said. It was a tragic accident and yes I agree with JimmyZ that it could have and should have been avoided. However there are alot of "faults" here that are fact and that can be placed. Yes, Chris may have been speeding. Yes, they may have been arguing and yes, Chris should have had his seatbelt on... but so should have Kasey. It is not Chris' responsibility to reach over and put a seatbelt on her. When people get in my car, I make sure there is a seatbelt on by saying something, but if they CHOOSE not to WEAR THIERS, it is not my fault. I know in GA, that the law is you are responsible for you own sealbelt if you are over 15 and you will be ticketed individuly. If the individual is under 15 it is the drivers responsibility. Everyone is incharge of thier own choices. If Kasey had put her seatbelt on then she would have been still in the car and probably alive. Chris did not intentionally hurt anyone, which is why it is called an "accident"

Yes, Chris should be charged with the accident and nothing more. He has enough to live with on his own.

There is NO report of Street Racing Involved in any of the legal documents and reports that have been released so STREET RACING IS NOT A TOPIC HERE, take it elsewhere.

Personal beef with jimmyZ is not a topic here so take it elsewhere, JimmyZ is making a point to make street racing a negative... If you don't street race then you have less chance of putting yourself into an accident So we will have less "JBO fatality" posts.

But after all it is your CHOICE.

just my .02

well i have an update on chris if anyone wants to know. i have been in touch with a few friends of kaseys and chris' and if u care to know, pm me or email me. otherwise, just go to the chris shelly updates page.

the reason i am not posting it on here, is because i am really sick and tired of everyone fighting over this. leave it up to the few people who have to make everything into a fight. EVERY SINGLE PERSON that i have spoken with so far that is related to kasey or chris, or is one of their supporting friends, is very taken back by reading everyones comments on here. what started out as a hopeful, inspirational thread turned into a cat fight. i just hope you people who a re arguing know what you're doing to his and her families. i suggest that you stop the arguing and bickering and get back to the MAIN subject on hand.....

CHRIS' WELLBEING AT THE MOMENT

anyhow, if you want an update email or pm me : kmp613@yahoo.com

well said.

now i have to say this. to everyone saying street racing what if he was just going fast and lost control. everyone here knows at 18 you are not a experienced driver no matter how you feel about it. hell i am about to turn 25 and i know there are people out there who are way better drivers than i am and there are people that are worse than me. he lost control of his car. these are @!#$ cavaliers hit a little wet spot going too fast and your going to spin out. i usually take country roads to get to work. every day for the past year i have taken the same 5 back roads and sometimes i hit 70 mph on them because i am late or whatever. now if i was to pass someone at that speed in a 55 mph zone and lose control because of a @!#$ puddle or a wet spot or whatever it would be my fault and yes i would feel very bad about it but i wouldn't want a bunch of internet losers busting my balls because i would alredy be doing that enough. you people need to get a life get off of the @!#$ internet and get a job. oh and everyone here that thinks they are the perfect driver. go take a driving class.

Re: Fatal Ohio JBO member accident....

Well said jokr i agree. i have been in a wreck at about 75-80 mph...I
wasnt street racing i was just late for school that morning...on a road
that i took every morning and knew like the back of my hand but you
cant control everything. I come into a curve and some jackass in
a gravel truck was coming around the same curve in the middle of
the road probably speeding also. Well i barely took the shoulder to
avoid hitting him head on and when i did i lost control. I was lucky to
be alive after that. The same thing could happen to any of you, so all
of you pointing fingers talkin bout street racing need to shut up until
the facts get out. You werent there so you dont know what happened.
You should be prayin for his recovery instead of bickering.

Re: Fatal Ohio JBO member accident....
Wednesday, November 30, 2005 4:48 PM
wow, can we seriously just STOP right now......

no more replies

no more arguing

no more bitch battles trying to figure out whos right and who isnt

i think that even though its pathetic that we should have to do this, we should make rules:

#1: DO NOT post in this thread if you have ANYTHING AT ALL negative to say - unless it is encouraging - do not say it

#2: IF someone wants to say something negative, they will not be responded to. "if a baby cries for attention, eventually it will stop and fall asleep if noone comes to see why the baby is crying"

#3: all comments need to be made, keeping in mind that chris, his family, and kasey's family and friends will all read this at one time or another. please kep ur personal feelings under control. if you dont have the overall same opinion "get well christopher, hang in there bud, we are very sorry for your loss, hope you pull through this" then dont post in this thread......make your own

#4: if you dont follow any of these rules, you get banned.....its not up to me for how long

to all the mods, what do you think of these rules? i think that they should have been put in place a long time before this. they are necessary for ths thread and this does not need to continue in the direction that it has been going.

sorry if im taking this to a step that i am not allowed to, but i really think that it should have been done already and someone needed to step up

if my family was in this position, i wouldnt want all this bickering and pointing fingers before i was even sure of the person in ICU was going to make it or not.

I cant believe this..... The thought of someone at 16 years old losing their life in an automobile accident is horrific. At this point in time we have a member in a hospital fighting for his life. You guys need to think back to when you were thier ages. A 16 year old girl is dead. She will never get to graduate highschool or go to her prom. Think back at everything you have done between the time you were 16 and however old you are now. She will never get to do those things. There is an 18 year old boy in a hospital fighting for his life if and when he does pull through he will have to deal with the reality that his girlfriend is dead and he was driving when the accident occured. Think about that for a minute. Think about waking up one day and realizing that while you were driving the person you love was killed. Its really disturbing you guys are fighting over something to stupid when we should all be praying for him to pull through and for the family of his girlfriend in the hardest thing they have ever had to deal with. There is not a single member of this group that can say they have never gone over the speed limit, not a one. I really hope you guys take a minute and think about what you guys are doing. There are no solid facts that anyone has been able to provide and you are wishing this person on their death bead harm. My thoughts and prayers are with the friends and faimlies that have been effected by this tragic accident as well as one of our own fighting to live.
